SOURCE: honda eu 6500 gen overload indicator light will not shut off

Check the Ground Fault Indicator circuit breaker for triping, and look for the high limit on generator. Reset the main breaker by triping it full right and then back. Vitally

SOURCE: My Coleman Powermate 6250 generator has no power

Take the cover off and flash the rotor again with a 12 volt battery. Positive lead goes to the top or right side brush. Negative to the other brush. Just touch it on, then remove it, and check for power at plugs.
If that doesn't do it, change the AVR (voltage regulator)

SOURCE: Lombardini diesel generator starts and runs fine but no elecpower

remove the covering panel and expose the internals , check for loose/disscontected push on ( lucar ) connectors , if these are fine it is most likely the excitation capacitor is deffective , replace with exactly the same value/voltage rating/duty cycle . the capacitor is usual 1 or up to 3 cylindrical tubes with 2 wires comming from them , always take a note of exactly what wires you have taken off :) hope this helps

Honda Trx 500 electrical pulse generator

Okay I see your answer. I will research this tomorrow but my first instinct is that two volts is probably right. The pulses are low voltage and trigger the spark electronically using low voltage power which is then amplified. .

I HAVE A GENERATOR HONDA E2500.

the generator is not big enough to run what you want
it needs to be 3500w minimum or 4.5w to be safe
although it is stated at 2500 watts , in fact that is the peak load on electric motor start up and its continuous rating will be around 1.8 watts
all of this is clearly stated on the specs plate on the generator

AC surge current?

you are missing the voltage supply here to get an definitive answer
for 240 volts drawing 4.8 amps the required wattage is 1152
for 120 volts the wattage is 576 watts
for 120 volts with a current of 900 watts , it equates to 7.5 amps
with 240 volts with a current of 1150 watts , it equates to 4.79 amps
so you can see the problem by not stating the supply voltage
get access to an cable clamp amp meter / watt meter from an electrician and read the current on starting the ac unit
if it exceeds 900 watts for 120 volts or 1150 for 240 volts , consider a bigger generator

Generator was running just fine. it's a bsv5500-w overloaded the unit by mistake. tested with meter and found 86 volts. shut unit down and now only puts out 5 volts on each leg

are you sure the breaker didnt trip when overloaded,as this is what the breaker is for and would explain the ghost voltage of only 5 volts at the outlet

Honda ems 4000 generator starts and runs great, but no power

The plunger is stuck where the governor rod which is spring attached to the frame is. If you locate the governor metal rod on the lower level of the unit. zrock it to a higher rpm as you would a car carburator from under the hood.
This will free the plunger and the green light will go on and your current meter will register 120 volts.

When you lay up the generator for quite some time it often sticks closed. With monthly start up you will no have this problem reoccurr.

My generator eu3000 will see its third winter in Western Washington and it does not start with the key. My wife needs the generator to run an oxygen machine, so the key start is critical. When I try the...

The EU3000 is a gel-pack (spill-proof) battery. Using a 10mm wrench or socket, remove the four (4) screws that hold the end cover on the machine.
Use a voltage meter and test the battery at rest (no load, not running). You should see 12 or higher volts DC. Record the voltage and then start the unit manually. Turn the ECO throttle "OFF" so the unit revs up to full RPM. You should see 14 or higher volts DC to verify that the charging system is OK.
The conclusion:
If the 12V test shows less than 10VDC, replace battery.
If the 14V test shows less than 12VDC, have a HONDA AUTHORIZED shop diagnose it for you.

Hope this helps.

My '74 550 four wont start.

Hey, sure sounds like a battery problem to me!!

I would try jump starting from a good battery (......say the one in the wife's Subaru) and if all works OK, just replace your bike battery.

These things are under a lot of stress on cold startup, and once they are gone...they're gone for good!

Once you have all up and running again, check the battery voltage with a voltmeter.

In engine-off position your battery should register about 12-13 volts. With engine running, 14-15 volts is usually delivered.

If voltmeter registers less than 12 volts with engine running, I would be looking at a faulty voltage regulator, or faulty AC generator output. You may have to seek the assistance of an Auto Electrician or a trusted motorcycle repair shop.

Good luck, mate.
