Access your gateway homepage by opening your internet browser and typing this on the address bar: 192.168.1.254/management. then key in your system password and click on Settings under Firewall. there's option#2 (allow individual applications), click on "Add a new-user defined application", input the data and click submit another way is to enable DMZ plus mode. that option would actually make all the ports open. use this if option#2 is not working. after making the above changes refresh your router, just unplug then replug it from the power.

I need to find my att dsl internet security key to sign on wireless my moden is a 2wire 2701hg

Open INTERNET EXPLORER and. (In the URL address field), enter the IP address for your wireless router ( the DEFAULT GATEWAY. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "198.168.1.1" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.do not type "www" just the number
Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual. If you don't have this information, go to routerpasswords.com and find the brand and model of your router. This site lists the default login information for most wireless routers you can try "ADMIN" for user name and "PASSWORD" for passsword.
You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as SSID (wireless network name) and passwords.aka security key

What steps do I take to configure my 2wire 2701 hg-b to connect directly by ethernet cable to my Directv HD DVR and pick up the dsl signal being transmitted by my primary westell router? Both are wireless...

Connect the cable at both ends and do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR. To test the connection, do thus: Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> test connection. If it shows not connected then "reset defaults" and run "connect now"
As a basic security feature the ATT DSL 2Wire 2701HG-B router/gateway requires you to enter its pre-assigned WEP key to connect beyond the unit itself and then to the internet. Since the Direct TV DVR HD24D only does a basic connection without having a place to enter the 2701HG-B WEP key it never actually reaches the internet.
The 2Wire 2701HG-B has the ability for one attached unit to "pass through" its firewall and internal security settings using a so called "DMZplus" mode. I set the HR24D DVR to such a mode within the 2Wire unit and the DVR connected with the internet flawlessly.

Can't view IP cam externally

Follow The Process:-
1.Visit https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports
input the port 5000 and check is it open or not, if it is not open it means you need to check port forwarding in your main internet router/modem.
2. By Default Routers/Modems Http port it 80. so you need to change ip camera http port 80 to 81 and do port forwarding and to view on android devices check another ports in ip camera network settings. so same port forwarding and check in yougetsignal website.

How many pc's can a 2wire gateway 2701hg-b

generally 4 at a time, but I don't know if there's really a limit, but you'll be sharing your bandwidth, which will slow down your connections.

To find out, open the prompt window and type the following:

ipconfig /all (notice the space) - hit enter.

Find the Default Gateway IP address.
Open Internet Explorer, and type the IP address above into the browser field for going to web pages. You will now be able to check the router yourself.

The ip may be something like: 192.168.2.1 - check it out.

How do i install ip cameras so that i can see them over the internet? I have a dvr connected to my 2wire modem and I do have static ips

You need to find out what ports your ip cameras use, and then setup port forwarding on your router. If you have 1 box that controls all the cameras, you just need to forward port 80 traffic to that box. If you have multiple cameras with NO main junction box, you will need to go into the setup on each camera, and specify a port to use.
Then in the router, set up port forwarding to forward each different port, to the camera it goes with. Then when you want to see the camera from home you would type the ip address in the browser, then a colon, then the port number --> IPADDRESS:81

Wireless Internet stopped working. Can't reconnect.

If restarting the router and restarting computer did not work (unplug both power cables), then you need to log into the router and check network settings.

To log into router type the router IP on internet explore bar, then enter user id and password.
You find details on how to do this, IP and passwords listed on the owner manual.

If wireless security settings on router are fine, then you can reset router to factory default using the pinhole switch. You will need to enter all your broadband settings to have the router working afterward.

Ip camera logon ptoblem

You might have forwarded the wrong ports of the camera to the wrong IP address. Make sure you assign static IP on the camera. Firewalls should be turned off as well.
