Jacuzzi tub works.....sort of.

We have a new Mirolin jacuzzi tub that was installed with the house when built 7 years ago. It worked great for the first 5 years and had regular cleaning, etc. With the arrival of our child, we didn't use the tub for a year or more (at least very much) and just recently when we ran it, the jets work but the motor and tub sound different. Also. the button would allow the tub to run for 10 minutes then stop. Now it goes for a minute and stops.

I filled it with hot water and soap to run a cleaning cycle through it but it doesn't seem to work any better. I checked the input for hair, etc and it is clean. I am presently letting the hot water soak in it and hopefully loosen up anything in it.

Any ideas? Is there a cleaner that is better for running through it?

Thanks in advance

I have a similar situation. My house about 5 yrs old, we use to run the tub every now and again to clean it, but with the arrival of our first child we kinda forgot about it. :( So the pump hasn't been used in a year or so. When I turn the pump on it doesn't push any water out. I've tried to soak it for awhile that didn't seem do anything. I haven't let the pump run any length of time in fear that it would cause even or damage. Can you suggest anything else before I go down the expensive repair route.

Because the system is exposed to humidity because of it's location, not running can cause the unit to devolpe rust or a form of scaling. Continue to run the unit and it should "loosen" up. But you might want to call a service company out to check it out anyway. A lot of these large appliances are not maintenance free so I would suggest someone come out and take a good look before it costs you money.

Need indicator rings for 3 controls on U640959 Jacuzzi bathtub. These are flat rings 1.5" ID, 2" OD. The two for the air have 5 circles. Also need the on-off ring.

Good luck Scott Jones...

I've been looking for some specifics on Jacuzzi (seacrest) faucets... for a couple of years...

Since before Jacuzzi moved out of the EAST-BAY area (here) they had pretty good stuff.

I have their "washerless" ceramic faucets..
Through trial & error I've been able to keep these working...

No thanks to the so called "Jacuzzi" (moved out of CALIFORNIA).

Not only were they not helpful when I told them I didn't want their NEW STUFF...

I only wanted to service what I've had for 30 years
(controls sound like what you have)

Try calling these folks... At least they know what JACUZZI used to mean... GOOD STUFF:

Is it possible to buy somewhere the Optional "U-Frame Skirt" for a "Jacuzzi CIVA Whirlpool" bath tub? Anyone know where or other suggestions on covering the front?

Home Deport and Lowes each used to carry a generic front skirt for "jacuzzi" type tubs. You may find something at one of their stores that will work.
The other solution would be to contact a Jacuzzi Showroom for authorized replacement parts.

Newly installed jacuzzi only has hot water for about 30 seconds, then water is tepid only.

This issue will have nothing to do with the jacuzzi tub. You will find the problem exists in the way your home was plumbed by the plumber.
Somewhere there is a clog in the water line going to the hot water faucet.
Find that and you will solve your problem.

Model identification

While the brand of the tub may be of importance to you it may not be important when finding parts for it.
Bath tub manufacturers do not make anything that goes into their tubs i,e. the jets, pumps and controls are all purchased from various Mfg.
Are you have any particular problems with either unit that would make you need the brand of either?

When I try to turn off my Jacuzzi tub it will not turn off. I pushed the gfi and it went off. I then reset it a few days later and the tub would not turn off and this time the gfi would not shut it off. ...

You will need to have a technician from the store you purchased it from install a new switch.

To be up to code, you should have a GFI for your Jacuzzi to plug into and a GFI circuit breaker dedicated only for your Jacuzzi. I

If you already have it, that's great, but if not check with an electrician for installation.

Jacuzzi doesn't work...no voltage to outlet, checked braker box, reset it..still not working...any ideas?

Maybe a GFCI outlet that it's pluged into may be tripped . check any other GFCI outlets through your house and make sure none are tripped.

Some tubs have access doors with GFCI outlets near motor at tub may be tripped.

I would expect there is a Jacuzzi dealer in your town and I would guess he has parts. If you purchase parts locally, not only are you helping your neighbor but also, you will have the opportunity to pick his brain on tips to install.

I have a jacuzzi 1/2 hp submersible well pump. Does this need any regular maintainance to keep it happy.

No preventative maintenance is necessary. However, a happy pump always has water above it and should not pump sand. If the water level in the well is below the pump/motor they will overheat. If this is a problem your local pump company can install a module to protect your pump from this type of event.
