I have a Sony CCD-TRV21 8mm camcorder that will not eject the tape - any suggestions without trashing the entire camera? Everything else still works - will power up and screen works but just beeps when you push the eject button.
I had the same problem and I switched to smaller tapes. I had been using the 120 minute tapes. It seemed like the tape would lock up after a short while with the larger tapes.

If it were worth repairing, as a Sony agent, I would replace all of the capacitors and clean up the board then reset the mechanism and test.
Probably too old being 2001 vintage.
This cannot be done by you and you need to refer this to a trained camera technician.
Any force applied to remove the cassette will damage the mechanism.
Many times it's a belt slipping. Since the tape isn't pulled into position, it's rewound and the tape ejected. A damaged or mal-adjusted switch could cause this too. The most you can do is blow it out with compressed air to see if that helps. I doubt there are many thing the end user could do.
that is look to be the cassette in switch
located on the side of the cass housing
or a sensor ...
hope that will help and this kind of trouble
is easy to fix for experienced tech an hour max
hope you will find one
Error Code = C:32:00 - Tape will not eject... I found that the Camcorder ate the tape and the tape was rapped all up inside the Camcorder, preventing the tape from ejecting. I took the Camcorder entirely apart and removed the tape manually and re-assembled the Camcorder. When finished there were no extra parts or screws and my Camcorder works perfectly once again. However, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this procedure if you are not confidant that you can disassemble and re-assemble your Camcorder.
1. I removed the battery. 2. With the power switch On position and holding the tape ejected I inserted the battery back on & it ejected the stuck tape.
