DeLonghi 50 Pint dehumidifier DE 500P won't turn back on

A few days ago my pump on the dehumidifier stopped working...and filled the container; not a big deal. Now, I just emptied the container and replaced it...and it will not turn back on; it appears to think the container is still full. I've manually tried to activiate the shutoff button that works with the float and still nothing. Any ideas? Thank you JimmyPopcorn

I have the same problem and determined it is a clogged filter. You need to take the cover off to replace it. I have logged onto the delonghi website but didn't see the fileter. I will most likely just put anyold filter on it.

If it is not responding when you try to activate the shutoff button and are still not recieving an acknowledgement that the bucket is full you may hav a defective shutoff button. Try contacting the Manufacturer and see if you can purchase just the button. This i a common part and the price is usually reasonable. If you feel very technical inclined you can remove the button and touch the 2 wires together simulating a closed contact. The dehumidifier should now acknowledge the bucket is full. If you recieve the notification then the button is bad. If you found this solution helpful please rate it.

DeLonghi DD70PE Dehumidifier. Why does pump often stop working and F/P shows an error code until reset?

id be inclined to think that for some reason the pump is taking too long to pump tank out (or it thinks it is ) this would cause the fault you describe and the safety control shuts pump off for fear of a problem

Need for a home dehumidifier for a 120 square meters space

normall you will need one pint of water for each 1,000 cubic feed of space in your . . example. 2,000 square foot with 8 foot ceiling would contain some 16,000 cubic feet. = 16 pint per day capcity to dehumidify the area.

What diameter tubing is used with the Delonghi DE 500P pump

George, regular garden hose is what is generally used for continual drainage. Just don't exceed the maximum length of hose, that is listed in your Owners Manual. And, despite what they say about being able to pump water up thru abasement window, it really doesn't work that well. Unless the unit is right below the window,

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

50 pint dehumidifier has drain hose connected but fills up the drain bucket and stops running....

safety switch is turning off the dehumidifier....you need to drain out the bucket more often....or put the drain hose into an actual drain....ive seen some people run a small plastic hose from the dehumidifier to the sump pump hole in their basement.

DE 500P - Fan will not shut off

If you have the fan icon selected, it is supposed to run continuously. If you use the mode button (not the fan button) to change to relative humidity (the water drop icon), the fan should only run with the dehumidifier.

DE 500P

This tube is likely related to the water pump out feature that these have. They have a pinch clamp on connections, perhaps your clamp is loose or misaligned.
