I have the Samsung RS2534 side by side and I read that in order to save energy the refrigerator temperature needs to be between 35 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit and the freezer at 0 degrees Fahrenheit so I tried to make the changes but it keeps moving back to 34 for the frig and -4 for the freezer which is too cold and uses more energy.
How do I reset the temperature and get it to stay where I want it. I already tried holding down the child lock button and the temperature still moves back to 34 and 0.I have the Samsung RS2534 side by side and I read that in order to save energy the refrigerator temperature needs to be between 35 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit and the freezer at 0 degrees Fahrenheit so I tried to make the changes but it keeps moving back to 34 for the frig and -4 for the freezer which is too cold and uses more energy.

Anyone fixed this?? I have the same issue with the Kenmore Elite 596.7857 series French door style unit. If I could just reset to factory default at least then it would allow me to raise have a higher temp. It appears the button is broken.Anyone fixed this?? 1. Unplug the fridge and move it away from the wall. 2. Inspect the power cord for damage. Replace the power cord if it is damaged. 3. Plug the fridge back into the wall outlet. 4. Set the temperature control to the desired level. 5. Push the "Reset" button, located near the temperature control panel, to reset the temp control settings. The Reset button is usually red in color. 6. Move the fridge back to its original position.
lower (raise) temp control knop down one number at a time waiting 2 hour in between (if pointer is on 9 turn to 8 and so on.... also put a temperature gauge inside refig. to check temp, you want it as cold as possible but not freezing.
this appears to be the door switch is either bad or disconnected and has triggered an alarm mode to the display. If the unit is cooling ok then you should remove and check the switch with a meter.
Hi, on the thermostat there should be a door of flap that opens, pulls down to reveal more buttons such as Cool, heat, auto, off, on. Find these and they will either be switches or a touch pad. Turn it to cool and auto. You should be able to use the arrows to lower or raise the temperature at that time. It may say hold temp on it also. Set the temperature where you want it, lets say 75 and push hold temp. It should work for you now. Please let me know how it turns out or if you need more help. Things to check- The screw in fuses, they are usually the 30 amp fuses for the oven. Next is the clock assembly, often these clocks will have the words "push for manual" or "turn for manual", this will put the clock back into the normal operating mode rather than the automatic mode. Next, you may have to remove the power and check for any burnt wires. If all checks ok, you will have to test the selector switch and oven control. Oven temp problems: Temperature is too low possible trouble makers, blown oven fuse, bake element is out, burnt wire, oven probe clips, oven temp control, oven temp sensor. Temperature is too high in the oven possible trouble makers, oven temp control, oven relay ( if used ), oven probe clips, oven temp sensor, shorted wire. These oven probe clips often rust off and the oven temp probe hangs down, or touches the oven wall giving false temperature readings to the oven control.
I had the same problem ("OF" on display and not working) and just found a fix and it worked (on SAMSUNG site). It was correctly stated that fridge is in "demo" mode. You need to push and hold POWER FREEZE and ENERGY SAVER buttons (not "Fridge button and the Power Cool buttons" as it was suggested above).
