Capresso C3000 Electronics Damage? What to do? We

Capresso C3000 Electronics Damage? What to do? We lost power during a lightning hit to the local power feed and when power was restored the machine produced a loud electrical pop from the rear and it tripped the GFCI and also the circuit breaker to the line. I unplugged the unit and (wishful thinking) tried another circuit with the same results. Question is, what do I do now? I can open the rear panel and have a look at the power board and try to determine what got fried or I can return it to Capresso for repair. I am concerned that whatever is producing the loud electrical pop sound may have caused irreparable damage to the sensitive electronics. Or, maybe it is something sacrificial to protect the electronics? Any words of wisdom? In your experience should I just replace the unit with a new model? It's 12 years old and I love this super automatic machine and have repaired it several times. A replacement unit (Z9) is a couple of grand at Capresso's swap price.

SOURCE: capresso s8 weak coffee

You should probably run a cleaning cycle with a cleaning tablet (the one you drop into the ground coffee shoot, not a decalcifying tab).
This will clean out all the insides where coffee particles and oil can accumulate.
The machine will ask you to run a cleaning cycle after a certain number of cups brewed. But you can also manually start it.

(this is copied from the manual)

You can run a tablet cleaning cycle at anytime even if
the machine does not prompt you,
• READY. Push and hold the Rinse button until display shows
RINSE. The Dial illuminates.
• Turn the Dial until display shows CLEANING. Push the Dial.
Display shows EMPTY DRAWER.
(Follow the rest of instructions for regular cleaning cycle)

SOURCE: Where can I find an Jura Capresso Impressa F9 replacement lid

The only sources I have been able to find are in Europe. They do not always wish to ship to the US however. In the US the dealers always want the repair, but seldome wish to sell parts outright. Try this website for parts.

SOURCE: Jura Capresso C3000 keeps saying clean unit

We have the S8 here at our office. Ran the cleaning cycle and "Clean Now" message was still on and beeping afterwards. Read the Feb 28 comment and carefully cleaned everything that had grounds stuck to it. Ran the cycle again and it worked. Thanks all.

Capresso C 3000 order of water lines for dispensers

Unfortunately, without being there in person to inspect the machine and its components, it's difficult for me to provide a definitive answer. However, I can offer some general guidance that may help:
  1. Consult the user manual: The user manual for your Capresso C3000 should have a diagram or schematic showing the different components and their connections. If you still have the manual, check to see if there's a helpful diagram inside.
  2. Look for visual cues: While it can be difficult to identify the tubes by sight alone, there may be visual cues that can help you narrow down which tubes go where. For example, one tube may be thicker or more flexible than the others, or it may have a different color or texture.
  3. Experiment with different configurations: If you're unable to find a diagram or visual cues, you may need to experiment with different configurations until you find the correct one. This can be time-consuming and frustrating, but it may be the only option if you're unable to find any other information.
  4. Seek professional help: If you're still unable to identify the correct tube configuration, you may want to consider seeking professional help. A qualified technician or repair service may be able to identify the correct configuration and get your machine back up and running.
I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck in getting your Capresso C3000 back in working order!

Why won't my panasonic turn on?

Hi Anonymous,
The lightning can cause extensive damage to the set. Sometimes the set becomes unpairable also. Please consult a local TV Tech to assess the actual damage.

Jura capresso c3000 yellow clip

I found out where it goes, thanks to Juergen, who pointed me toward his excellent page on Jura cleaning: see figure 7d, copied here

which shows the yellow clip helping to hold on the tea pipe. I'm guessing that if you don't use the tea pipe, you will be okay. Otherwise you can just put that clip back on next time you clean the machine.

Capresso C1300 LCD stays on stating "Hot water cycle necessary"

I had one that set for 6 months that had that problem. Air had gotten into the water lines. Opened the hot water tap a few times and then removed the end of the water line that runs from the solenoid to heater block to at the solenoid end to bleed air out. It could also have been some calcium deposits that blew out with the air blocking the line. Then I replaced the end of the line, powered the machine up and it worked normally. Note: Jura Capresso and Capresso machines are complicated and it takes some mechanical know how to open them up and service them. They also have four special screws on the back that requires a special tool to open

Lightning strike

Lightning hits do some nasty damage to electronics.
Alot of times that type of repair is part of an insurance claim. The insurance company requires estimates and will repair them up to the cost of replacement.

If you arent dealing with an insurance claim on this I'd still recommend a professional estimate.
Lightning damage sometimes is confined to the power supply and once repaired could be fine bit in my experience most items that take a nasty hit are a write off.
