The turntable is probably frozen and needs to be serviced. The platter need to be removed and the old grease removed and new grease applied. The rubber idler wheel may also be hard and it should be soft, This wheel turns against the platter and is attached to the motor. All of this is located under the record platter after the rubber mat has bee removed.

SOURCE: Numark TTX1 Turntable Problem-Platter stops

This is a drive issue. Unfortunately the TTX direct drive system isn't the greatest. It's good, but it's no Technics 1200. The only way to 'fix' this issue is to have a professional look at main circuit board to see if there are any components which are burned, or damaged in any way.

Hope this helps some.

More than likely the drive IC (integrated circuit) has shorted, and needs to be replaced. Not an easy fix, and you'll have to take it to a service center for replacement.

This is a common problem on this turntable.

SOURCE: Dual 1228 turntable platter not spinning, the motor will not turn

This particular unit uses an idler wheel to drive the table. Remove the platter and check the rubber wheel. It may be dirty, or just dry and slick. This part may need to be replaced or treated.

Looks like this is a belt drive model.

This site claims to provide installation instructions with belt purchase. Good Luck.

Turntable only playing sound from one speaker.

It could be like you said cartridge (could be a bad connector and cartridge ok) or bad contacts in amp switch try switching it a few times? also check the phono plugs coming out of the turntable sometimes the metal bit breaks off on the centre pin .If you have a multimeter check across the phono plugs to measure cartridge coil resistance both channels should be the same. You could try swapping the leads around and if the sound swaps L/R that would mean fault on turntable no sound would mean one side of amp down.

Trying to find a way to get the turntable of a Zenith Allegro Console to work. We have turned to whole unit on and off. AM and FM radio plays. Turntable doesn't turn. At the bottom right of the turn...

Lift the turn table off the case and check the belt if it has one or the idler wheel that mechanically turns the table. Also check the motor to see that it rotates when you simulate a record play moving the needle carrier towards the center, The power must be on to test it. Becareful not to touch the 115 VAC line.

Old turntable works but is too quiet to hear

It sound like you may have to hook your turntable up to a phono input. Turntables have low level outputs. The phono input is designed to amplify this low level more than the cd/dvd inputs do. If you do not have a phono input, you can buy an external "phono preamp" online. Hope this helps.

Turntable does NOT turn.Crosley CR66 vintage Radio and Turntable

Try this - GENTLY move the phono arm to the RIGHT until you hear a click Tof course, do this after you turn on the power via the volume dial and set the other dial to"phono"). Doing this turns on the turntable when you haven't used it in awhile. This worked for us, hope it works for you.

If it doesn't work, you can check the belt by removing the tiny clip at the center post and gently lift the turntable platform/tray to peek at the motor and belt underneath. The pulley is on the right at the 2 o'clock position, the belt should be in contact with it.

Turntable problem

You will need a phono preamp. Ipods, radios and cd players all give out a LINE level signal..which means you can plug headphones or speakers, adjust volume and be set. A turntable needs a phono preamp. Usually a dj mixer or stereo receiver with a phono input is all that is needed. A simple phono pre amp is like $20 from radio shack.

keep me posted.
