RS267LBBP fridge is not getting cold even though turned temp down

We recently had a bridal shower this weekend and were using the fridge allot; opening and closing it. We turned the temp down to 38 degrees and it stayed around 58, but we thought it was because we kept opening and closing the fridge. The party is long since over and fridge is now 60 degrees. Can't get anyone here to look at it till late in the week. HELP!

GE TBX23 will not get cold. It has not been run in a year. Any ideas?

the obvious things to check is the temp gauge inside the fridge. is it turned up far enough? if so, then the gas inside the fridge is no longer useable. meaning you cant use the fridge anymore and a replacement is required.
even though the fridge has not been used in over a year, the gas inside acts just like battery does, if a battery does not get used for so long, the power still runs out and eventually the battery looses its charge, the gas in a firdge acts the very same way

You can use a hairdryer on the frozen parts.
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

GE Fridge/Freezer Having to turn temp up just to keep it cold

That's a typical sign of the defrost cycle not working and ice is building up on the coils. That prevents proper air flow of cold air around the compartments. As ice builds up you get less air flow and things warm up soooo you turn up the cold which causes more ice to build up and even less air flow soooo you turn up the cold. See where I'm going with this? You'll have to check your defrost timer, defrost t-stat and even the heat element. Look in your owners manual or online for diagrams of where the parts are located on your older unit, then go from there.
