Ps2 Playing in Black and White and side scrolling.

Scrolls to the side or vertically?

If it scrolls vertiacally I get this from running PAL games on an NTSC TV,

Is this an import game?
Does the game disc and the console show the same video type?

PAL or NTSC. For the game (at least in the US) it shows the video type on the Disc under the PS logo and on the case it is at the bottom of the spine and the top right corner (under the PS logo) on the cover. On the console it should be on the laebl on the back of the machine.

Is the machine modded, such as having a modchip in it or softmodded with HD Loader or USB Advance?

Those programs should allow you to play the games just fine. I have several out of region games on my system and they all work just fine..

There are a few possibilities but I would start by checking the av cables (the one that plugs into your tv). If you wiggle the cable while the console on does the picture change (the black and white and dimming etc)? If so you need a new one. You can get one on ebay for like $4 or even cheaper if you want to wait for it to ship from hong kong. OR if you have a Nintendo 64 or an SNES the av cables for those are the same so you can use them instead.

I got an r4i-sdhc from r4-sdhc.com and i want to continue my saved data of pokemon black. when i patched pokemon black with the english patch and wanted to play the screen was white.
I'm not sure if this will work or not but go here http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=47381.2700.. Scroll down to darkar and he explains how to run it using waio. Basically after you do everything that the forum says:

You would just scroll down to the woodr4sdhc and run that then go into your games and play the patched version. Hopefully that works. I know it does for a regular r4 sdhc card(just booting it and getting past the white screen) since yours is also a sdhc hopefully it'll run too.

I had the same problem. I fixed it by changing system settings, there is somewhere on the console where you can choose between two differant colour options. have a look around and try changing it on the ps itself.
