There is no replaceable CMOS battery on this model.
It is probably a rechargeable battery on the motherboard.
See Manual which only mentions the main battery pack.
Is this an ASUS charger and battery? Some ASUS laptops will not charge after a certain charge is reached, but it's usually in the 95-100% range to prevent overcharging.
If you bought an aftermarket charger, it may very well not have the amperage to charge while running the laptop.
Is it a replacement battery? Are the specs the EXACT match, DC volts and Amps? Some inexpensive batteries do not work well with your laptop, it's a Connector/ pin thing, they don't communicate with the laptop. Try pulling the plug and drain the battery and recharge. Cycle it a 4 times, drain/ recharge. Does your BIOS setup have a Battery Learning section?
Your laptop is 2 years old? Your battery is dead already? There are many online battery sellers, just do a Google search. BE ADVISED, Beware of cheap batteries, Look at the ASUS website for a replacement and a price. Use the model of your laptop and crossreference the battery Model numbers and power specs. Remember, the batteries that are cheap are cheap for a reason. That said you can usually find a battery for less than a laptop maker, ASUS, will charge. I'd ask your professors which one they recommend and if they don't have a recommendation ask them what they use or better yet what they would like to use if they could afford it!
good colleges should recommend a compatible laptop that will easily sync with their school system!
