Champion4 leaks water through flush valve

flushing a cooling system is the same method as any other motor

do it without the thermostat fitted
or water pump opening

sacrifice an old radiator hose to adapt a garden hose fitting
for radiator flush

air in system fix
your thermostat housing has no air bleed valve
no top radiator cap

old school way
heater on full
run motor till thermostats fully open
burp radiator hoses
wait till water is running up into over flow bottle without bubble
replace cap
turn off heater
correct level in over flow bottle

why still over heating
you fitted everything i would have ... yet still overheat
possibles
leaking inlet manifold gaskets
hose clamps loose
cooling fans spinning too slow
thermostatic fan switch faulty
aluminum radiator is a big one
air ..fins bent or some water channels blocked

or possible head gasket leak

Are you sure you have all the air out of the cooling system? Have you had the system tested with a gas analyzer for a leaking head gasket? I would go with the head gasket.

replace the whole valve. It's cheap and easy to do. Probably you can install a universal valve. Look on e-bay or amozon

You need to replace the flush valve gasket. It comes in a flush valve kit, it's a rubber gasket that goes between the tank and the bowl. You just pull the tank off and it's on the under side of it. Be careful the black stuff on the gasket doesn't come off your hands. Make sure you get the new one on there even and all the way on. This will fix your problem. Good Luck

it sounds like your flapper (flush valve) is leaking.
if you here your toilet filling up and no one flushed.
push down on flapper to see if you here the water stop leaking out. if so replace flapper. even if toilet is 1yr or less old. could be a bad flapper. hope this helps. duane :)

is the flapper weighted? if it is it will cause it to shut prematurely. one thing you can do is increase the water in the tank. you might have to buy a pvc cuppler to put on the over flow to allow it to fill up more. korky makes a nice flapper thats not weighted

you need to replace the flapper, it's allowing water to seep thru

This happens ALL THE TIME!! Heater core is likely plugged with rust, yes. but a garden hose fix will NOT last. and the reserve probably IS cracked on bottom, as most are.They are relatively cheap from Ford, though. Have a REPUTABLE radiator shop do a Genuine Power Flush to the entire cooling system (not an automated fluid exchange many shops claim to be a "flush") and THEN have them unplug the heater in a similar fasion. Now is the time to replace the surge tank (old one is packed with rusty sediment that is usually partially plugging the cracks in it, and not very cost effective to clean anyway). On older, very rusty 2 valve 3.0 systems only other issues are the rear of timing cover gasket often leaks a little, and the water pump impellers can become eroded away (from rust) and water flow suffers. So... watch for residue or dripping from behind water pump. If minimal, a mild leak sealant added to a properly cleaned system with refill and tightening the bolts near leak will do the trick--otherwise timing cover gasket and pump replacement is needed.

I have a 2000 montana and mine was doing the same thing. I replaced intake manifold gaskets, thremostat, and water pump. Turns out it my heads were warped. I had them taken to a machine shop and it has seemed to fix my overheating problems.
