Is it WiFi in your home? If that's the case, and, you still can't remember/find your network's username and password--try resetting the wireless router (or access point--AP) to default factory settings. Use your PC or laptop to reenter factory settings with the router's/AP's networking address entered into a browser (likely Internet Explorer)--it should appear as something like 168.192.0.1 (depending upon your particular router)--it's in the manual.

If you don't have a manual, download the PDF version from the router/AP manufacturer online. Navigate within the menus provided on your PC's/laptop's screen. One of the menus should offer default factory reset. Indicate "Yes." (If you can't read a PDF file on your PC/laptop, download and install the free Adobe Reader from adobe.com.)

Once the router is reset, the manual indicates the temporary username and password to use for WiFi. This is the time, though, to invoke security once again for the router/AP--enter a sensible and secure username and password--something memorable, yet difficult for others to determine. Use letters, numbers, and even certain special characters. Follow the instructions to set up security, replacing the simple username and password--use WPA2 or WPA (encryption). WPA2 is the most secure.

Now's the time to configure the Kindle or other tablet: You need to find the WiFI settings menu in your Kindle--after enabling WiFI in the tablet, find your router/AP user name you just configured via your PC/Laptop in the Kindle menu--perhaps among those from other WiFi signals from neighbors or businesses. Choose your username, and enter the password. It should connect--securely now.

In a few locales in America (say, in California), not configuring security even proves illegal. Always secure your wireless network--people actually may scan for networks in order to share bandwidth--or, far worse, to garner sensitive personal info and otherwise hack in. Even these days, many people refuse to take sensible steps towards security--they're happy to get a connection of any type--not being locked out of their WiFI by forgotten security, either. That's a "shortcut to thinking."

How do I transfer books from kindle fire 7 to a Samsung galaxy tablet

make sure the new device is registered with amazon. For the galaxy, install the kindel application from the store, then execute it. This will prompt you to register the device. Next log into your amazon account online, go to manage kindle content (option at the bottom of the page), which will display all your books. You can then select which books you want to download/deliver to the new device.

Can I fownload Kindle ebooks on to my samsung tablet?

Yes, you can. But, you have to download the Kindle App to your tablet first. Go to the Play Store and enter Kindle into the search box. It's free. After downloading you can open the app and log on with your Amazon ID and password. Then it will download and synchronize and you will see all the books in your library. All you have to do is touch a book you want to read on your Samsung and it will download forthwith and when the progress bar goes to all the way to the end you can open it and read it. One caution, The Kindle app limits the same book to three devices only.

How do I access the books on my kindle from my ipad Kindle app?

You will need to download the Kindle app ( from the App Store ) on your iPad or iPhone. You can then access your account on Amazon and probably download whatever you have on the Kindle to those devices. I have it and it works great....never went back to the Fire.

If you purchased the book from the Amazon store, it will still be in the Cloud.
Go to Books and there should be two buttons under the clock that say Cloud and Device. Click on Cloud and your deleted book should be there.
Simply re-download it at no extra cost.

How do I use this for buying e-books?

Purchasing ebooks through the iBooks Store is very similar to buying any other media via Apple's iTunes Store. One key difference, though, is how you access the store. Rather than through iTunes or a dedicated app like the iTunes Store app on the iPad and iPhone, in this case, you access it through the iBooks app.
In the top left corner of the iBooks app is a button that reads "Store". To access the iBooks Store and begin shopping for iPhone- and iPad-compatible ebooks, tap that button.

Once you enter the iBooks Store, the browsing and searching experience is very similar to using the iTunes Store. In this case, you can search for the author or title you want in the top-right corner search box.
To browse books, either tap the icons on the main page of the store or tap the "Categories" menu item in the top left corner. This drops down a menu with all of the iBooks store's categories in it. Tap the category you're looking for to see books in that genre.

In the iBooks Store, when you tap a book title to get more details (synopsis, reviews, etc.) a window pops up and the background grays out a bit.
In this window, you can download a free sample of the book to your iBooks library by tapping the "Get Sample" button. This is the equivalent of iTunes' 30-second song preview, which helps you get a sense of whether you want to purchase the book.
When you decide to purchase a book, tap the price on the left side of the screen next to the book cover. The button will turn green and read "Buy Book". Tap it again to buy the book.
To close the pop-up window and not buy the book, simply tap anywhere outside the window.

You buy at the iBooks Store using the same iTunes account and password as you do at the iTunes Store or App Store. When buying a book, you'll be prompted to enter your password to pay for the ebook before it will begin downloading.

Once you've entered your iTunes account password, the eBook will download to your iPad. How long this takes will depend on the book (its length, how many images it has, etc.).
When the book is done downloading, it will appear as a title on the bookshelves in the iBooks app. Tap it to begin reading.

Does the KImble have an output socket so that the audio (talking) feature for books can be used through the car audio system

The Amazon Kindle has a headphone (3.5mm) jack which can be used to listen to audiobooks - a male-male extension cable can extend this to allow the output to be played through another medium, if your car has the same size jack. If not, there are some products which will broadcast the audio on a low-grade radio frequency with roughly the range of your car (for example: http://www.amazon.com/Transmitter-Kindle-car-power-cable/dp/B0020KKWLK), allowing you to listen to your ebook on a particular radio frequency.

Hope this helps!

Although I had downloaded books, when I went on holiday to the canaries I could not see them, on returning to the UK, I could see them again

I assume you downloaded books but put them into the "Archive". This place holds content for you ready for download (or re-download after deletion) from the Kindle store, but its not actually stored on your Kindle.

The Kindles come with two options for connectivity:
  • Wi-Fi (connect to a Wireless LAN home or public network)
  • 3G (optional, connect via mobile phone data service)
The 3G connectivity works in many countries world-wide, I don't think it was an easy negotiation by Amazon to get so many mobile phone service providers to accept a one-time upfront payment for unlimited data transfer.
The Canaries, however, seem not to have made it to the list. You would need access to a Wi-Fi hotspot (Hotel, Airport, Restaurant, ...) to view archived content, or physically download the books to your device before you go to holidays.
