How to transfer videos from camcorder to pc

Unable to transfer a video recording made on the hard disk drive to the Memory Stick Duo™ media Solution
Do the following before attempting to copy movies to the Memory Stick Duo media:

1. Ensure an Image Database File has been created on the inserted Memory Stick Duo media.
2. Ensure there is enough space available on the Memory Stick Duo media.

Just get the USB cable (make sure the end that goes in the Camcorder is the right one) hook it to your PC then when you hook it to your PC you can find software to transfer or since it will make you Camcorder like a Hard Disk drive (if you are fairly computer savy) just transfer directly! Hope it helps

Did you try uploading using a firewire card and firewire cable? It is an alternative to USB and is the most preferred way of transferring video from the camcorder these days. Also did you try uploading the video using windows movie maker? COnnect your camcorder to your computer and press the capture from camera option to capture the video on your camcorder to your computer. If you have already tried everything then the simplest way to transfer is to remove the 1.5" hard drive connect it to your computer(your computer should have SATA connector), transfer the video and put the hard drive back into the camcorder. Might sound crazy but its a very effective way considering the fact that it is quite easy to remove the hard disk from most camcorders.

You have use only the sony software to transfer the picture and the videos. The software have a default location. Go to that location and you will find all of them

I also am facing the same problem. Even the videos can be played in PC, then don't give any sound at all. And I have no idea about it too. Really stuck at that point. Another thing is; how to disconnect the camcorder from PC although I remove the hard disk of it via safely remove, as it always warn "PC connected, WHILE THE CAMCORDER IS CONNECTED TO A PC DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE OR POWER SOURCE, CANNOT TURN OFF POWER OR CHANGE MODES" in its display LCD. So, What I am gonna do???? Actually for transfering the images and videos from your camcorder to PC is; you need to install PIXELA ImageMixer 3 SE first, which is aldy in your kit. Then, you can edit and browse the videos and images from your camcorder.
P.S: If somebody knows how to solve these, please share the solutions. Thanks! Am I wrong to purchase that Canon FS200 because of its external audio jack(whereas others don't have that access), compact design and reasonable pricing ?

Hi, connect the cam and PC using 4 pin firewire cable. Switch on the cam. Open Windows Movie Maker and import the video from device.
You can then use Move Maker to any disc burning software like Nero to create the movie disks.

remove the SD card from the camplug it into your PC. If it has no card slot, get a USB card reader. Less than $20 usually. Make sure the card reader can handle the SDHC (hi-capacity) cards if you plan to use those. If XP recognizes the card it will appear like an additional hard disk. Open it in windows explorer, check the directories until you find your video or photos and copy those to the hard disk.
