Question about Hitachi 50V500 50 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
Temp light remains flashing.
Blinking temp light means bad lamp fan. Needs replacement

It doesn't say so in the manual, and Hitachi's "tech support" are neither and don't know it, but when the lamp completely fails such as with a missing filament, the temp, lamp, and fan lights may blink in sequence from left to right. Just replace the lamp. It worked for me. Also, avoid the non-Hitachi after-market lamp / carrier assemblies. Most won't seat into the TV properly on the right side. It takes some looking, but the genuine part made by Hitachi by Panasonic can be found on Amazon.
