If I understand, you want to install video driver and there is no installer or (.exe) file to run.

If this is the case, right-click on my computer - properties - click device manager then hardware. Assuming your running on Windows XP. Then click on the plus sign near display adapter then right-click on the name of the display adapter - update driver... then in the wizard; point to the folder containing the adapter driver, click ok and it sould install it.

Onboard sound lost after video card installation

If your PC had an onboard video card before this, you may want to go in and make sure you have disabled it in the BIOS. This has happened to me before.

Can a PCI video card be installed on the Intel SE7501BR2 server board? My onboard video has color problems. I tried a known-working PCI video board after turning off onboard video, but got no video...

Most of the time you'll need to change a setting in the BIOS to force the computer to recognize the PCI slot first. Try going through your BIOS settings until you find it. It should be something like "Display First" or Primary, and it should be set to onboard graphics. Try changing that to PCI and see if that fixes your problem.

I have a asus p5g41-mlx3 mobo and i'm trying to install a palit 8400+ 1gb video card, but after installing and starting up my pc i get a blank screen. if i take out the card my computer works fine....

Check if it a jumper to disable the onboard video. If not, try disabling the onboard video in BIOS or selecting the option in BIOS to use a plugin card rather than onboard.

Where do you have your video cable plugged in? With the new graphics card installed, do you have video out of either connector?

Problem with onboard video of a compaq sr2032x

The onboard video card is actually set to secondary when you plug in a PCI or PCI-E video card. If no video image is showing then there may be further damage inside the mother board.

No video on monitor. Powers up, looks like everything should work but nothing on the screen. The Geeks at Geek Squad say it's a bad motherboard.

Remember before you attempt this there must be no power going to the computer.Do you have a onboard video or a video card installed. If you do,where is the monitor pluged in?on the onboard or the installed card.If you have onboard remove the other card.See if you get video. If not check the memory.

I have intel845 board when i switch on power without ram i get ram beeb but if ram installed i cant get any beeb & no display & board star power on automatically

If the board is starting properly with RAM installed but you are getting no display then the problem is with the video card or onboard video. If it is onboard video then you should be able to fix this by purchasing a compatible video card and installing in your pci-x slot. Make sure you disable onboard video once you are able to get into your bios. Hope this helps.

How to disable onboard (Nivida 6100) video on a Acer Aspire E380 so I can install a EVGA 8800GTS and 650w PS.

Shane,

First Connect your Monitor cable to the onboard connector.

Then boot your PC
After the Acer logo disappears press <Delete> on your keyboard to enter BIOS
From there you should be able to find the option to change the default Videocard to PCIE

press <F10> to save and exit
Shutdown PC
Switch Cable to Nvidia 8800GT and reboot
You should now be able to finish installing your new Vid Card

Hope this helps

VGA PROBLEM

Your onboard video might not be working. I suggest getting a Video card and installing that. If onboard video is a must have then you can buy a low video card that fits your mobo, then search online for your mobos onboard video driver and then your onboard VGA should work.

My pc doesn't boot up

Did you have onboard video before? What is the video card? AGP8x, AGP4x, PCIe? If you had onboard video, you'll need to change the settings in the BIOS and disable the onboard video. You'll have to plug in at the onboard to access the BIOS.
