I have a Frigidaire microwave, model ffmv162lsa, that hangs above the oven and is just over two years old. A few weeks ago my fiance was going to clean the interior of it by spraying the microwave down with a water and cleaning agent mixture, which she said she has done many times before. Just as in the past, she turned on the microwave for less than 30 seconds to heat up the mix sprayed inside and let it soak into the cooked on food. She did not have anything else in the microwave when she turned it on, only what she sprayed on the walls, which I guess according to Pinterest, is enough. Its worked before for her, but this time it shutdown part way through and the timer/clock blacked out and there was no power to the microwave. Fifteen minutes later approximately it turned back on. It seemed that since then, it has taken things longer to heat up. This has been two weeks ago, but yesterday it seemed that the problem became worse. I tried heating up two hot pockets, but after a total of five minutes of cook time the centers were still cold. Then my fiance cooked frozen broccoli for four minutes which came out still frozen. After the broccoli was removed, a few minutes later the microwave shut down just as it did a few weeks ago. Again it kicked on about fifteen minutes later. It was like someone had kicked out the breaker and then turned it back on after a while because the clock was reset. I don't know if the heat is going elsewhere and it overheats some components, which in turn shuts down the microwave or what the reasoning is. It seems that the rest of the microwave is warm, the walls, the plate, even the hot pocket foil sleeve, but the food does not get hot. The edges of the hot pockets that stuck outside of the sleeve were warm but not scalding as they should be after being cooked for so long. I read that the door switch could be misaligned so a shifted it around and then put a cup of water in for one minute today and it seemed to heat fine so I thought all was well. I thought I would go back to trying a test of hot pockets again and was very disappointed. Same cold food even after sliding the door around. Everything else seems to work fine, but it does have a vibration inside that gets louder and louder as you cook until it gets to a certain point and just stops, only to quietly start making the noise again 20 or so seconds later. I did move the door around today when it started to make that noise again and did happen to subdue the sound from ever getting as loud as it did before and all but stopped it if I added extra pressure holding the door shut. I need to be clear though that the vibration is coming from inside the microwave, not the outside on the door or anywhere else and that started recently. My question is could the lack of matter inside the microwave when my fiance sprayed the cleaner and started it caused something to fail e.g. diode, magnetron, etc.? If so, what suggestions do you have for fixing this or am I better off buying a new microwave? I am not thrilled with our Frigidaire appliances. We already replaced our dishwasher that was less than a year old. Any brands for decent microwaves? Sorry for the long description and thanks for any help!

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:
- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose conneciton on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part

SOURCE: microwave shuts down after cooking three or four minutes
Your magnetron is overheating and tripping the thermostat, which interrupts power until it cools.
Since
it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty.
I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

SOURCE: Microwave Oven Does Not Start Cooking
This
is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch
mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.
Even though a door
switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.
Door switch
or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening
the
door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
There are
plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and
onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.
The screws on these
mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be
activated properly.
Sometimes it's
a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just
out of position. This tab
can be hard to see, since it is under the
bottom edge of the switch.
One test that sometimes
helps is to
gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to
start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount
or
door alignment issue.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control
panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very
helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can download it here.

SOURCE: everything works except the cooking part/no heating/turntable not turning, help!
you may have gotten a power surge and that can cause some funny things to happen, 1st is there power to the oven, 2nd if so there may be an internal fuse protector built in to the oven, check with the manual for anything of that sort listed. if not you may have to take it in and have it repaired by a pro. there is a lot of voltage in these ovens and unless you know what you are doing a person could get hurt

If the mount is broken, it's usually more economical and
safer to add a dab or two of hot glue to the mount to secure the
switch. Let it cool for about 30 minutes before using.
