I just had the same pulsating sound and it was because the "line in" was set all the way up. I am not using the line in anymore, turned it of and the pulse is gone.
Its due to the control knob. Does this sound vary because of bass controller switch ?? If it is yes then you have to just replace the control knob of the sub woofer.

I am not sure if you used the Creative Labs drivers or not but unfortunately those drivers are not compatible with the Audigy 2 SZ SB0350 sound card. When it comes to the drivers for this sound card, you need to use the gateway drivers which are available here.
since new compressor installation that noise is either a little to much gas in the system or to little. Mostly in my experiance, to much. Need to get Tech. back and check gas level. quick to see whats happening internally then.
Check for updated drivers and install if available. If that does not resolve the issue completely remove the card and any software and drivers and do a clean install with the new drivers
Same loudness, no speaker? This sounds (no pun intended) like a filter capacitor shorting out. Open it up and VERY CAUTIOUSLY look for what is making the noise. Filter capacitors can eject hot stuff. Very dangerous.
I have had that problem with a T7700/T7900 speaker system.
Disconnect the remote control from the subwoofer. Then what you need to do is unscrew the remote volume/bass control unit (4 little screws). Swab the contacts on the volume dial with a cotton bud (q tip) denaturated alcohol or even perfume will work. Make sure you do it several times until all the slight dirt that is causing the volume fluctuation/spikes to happen. Also remove any remnants of cotton that might get stuck. Now you'll have it working as new as long do not cause any other damage to the unit.
Same prob. Creative sucks on service.
