Hi! there,
well! no brand and model, anyway the guard fan has a quick clip lockaround the fan blade,be sure to unplug your electric fan before doing this, unlock clip lock then the fan has a quick handy lock knob at the center of the fan observed loosening knob there is direction arrow in loosening this if i'm wrong going counter clockwise,or take the direction indicated marked on top of knob.
pull out the blade and have it clean if this is a plastic or aluminum clean it with water and spounge/cleanser,avoid to distorsion on fan blade if happen this will wiggle when run again be carefull and on the second guard fan still connected to your electric fan, there is plastic lock nut release and pull out the 2nd fan guard, try to clean this with water and cleanser, the motor assembly with control and stand just wipe it out ,don't try to get wet specially the motor, let all dried up before reassemble.reverse the process to eassembly

I took the blades off my table fan to clean them and once i put the fan back together and turned the fan back own the blade spins and everything but no air is blowing out

I think that you may have put the blade on backwards. try taking the fan apart and reversing the blade around and reassembling the fan.

Aspire 5742 i3-370m overheating how do i fix it

Three things that will make a laptop overheat:

1. Dust - Dust inside the laptop, dust clogging the vents, dust around the fans, dust around the cpu and heatsink. To fix it, take the laptop apart, take a can of compressed air and blow out the dust.

2. A fan is not working. To fix it, you will have to take the laptop apart to replace the fan.

3. The Thermal Paste around the cpu and heatsink has dried up or is too thin to keep the unit cool. To fix, take the laptop apart and apply a fresh coat of Thermal Paste.

Another work around for a laptop that is overheating is to by a Laptop Cooling Pad that has fans on it and it plugs into the usb port of the laptop. The laptop sits on it and it keep the laptop cool. You can buy a laptop cooling pad for less than $20 from Tiger Direct.

http://www.tigerdirect.com

When the site opens just type Laptop Cooling Pad in the search box at the top of the screen then press GO. Sort the returned results by Price Low to High.

Tell me about overheating

Overheating usually occurs when the vents are obstructed or full of dust.
Overheating causes that laptop to slow down in terms of processor speed, if the laptop overheats too much then it will shut down to protect itself from damage.

1998 Cadillac DeVille Overheats

The cooling fans will not come on until 225 degrees. Normal temp is around 199-215. Sitting still in traffic most will inch up around 220 or so. When you turn ac on it turns the fans on and may cool down engine, Check fan operation.

Marvin Box Fan Cleaning

It has six phillips-head screws around the perimeter. Loosen all six screws and the halves separate. Be careful loosening the screw that holds the motor in place - I ended up stripping the head. If you can use a vice grip to get it started, that may help.
