SOURCE: No sound from front panel of GIGABYTE GA-MA69G-S3H

Aloke,
It does mention in your manual (top of pg. 28 -notes), that in order to use the HD Front Panel Audio connector the pin configuration are different than the AC97 connections. Your current case is set up for AC97. You will have to contact Mfg. for the case click the link for Gladiator support:
http://www.a-top.com/jsp/info.jsp?number=3

You can try this, open up your control panel, look for an icon that's named Sound Effects Manager. Open it. Click speaker configuration.
This is part of Realtec's software. This is where you can setup & check both front & back ports (Audio & Mic).
If this part of Realtec did not install goto Gigabyte & down load your audio software & re-install it. (Just a suggestion).
http://www.giga-byte.com/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=2554

Hope this helps. If you make the call it will be a fix.
Good luck.

T3418 led pwr

The eMachines T3418 Desktop PC uses an FIC K8MC51G motherboard.

{ FIC = First International Computers, (Inc}

http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket754/fick8mc51g.shtml

The plastic front of your desktop computer is the Front Panel.

The area of the motherboard that the wires from the Front panel go to, is the Front Panel header. Also sometimes abbreviated as F_PANEL, or FP1.

With the motherboard sitting in it's normal position in the computer case, Processor to the top, Ram Memory to the right; the Front Panel header is to the bottom/right corner.

http://support.gateway.com/s//MOTHERBD/FIC/105554/105554nv.shtml

Click on Product Views in the list.
Now go down, and click on the blue, M- Front Panel Connector.

As you can see the Top row of pins, (Towards the Processor), are numbered Even.
The Bottom row of pins is numbered Odd.

Pins are numbered from Left to Right.
Top row = Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10
Bottom row = Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive Activity LED light.
Pin 1 is probably for the Positive ( + ) wire. Doesn't say.
If the LED light is dim when operating, switch the wires around.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset Switch, IF used.

C) Pin 9 is for 5 Volt power.
(Doubt it is used)

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light.
Probably pin 2 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the LED light is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.

F) Pin 10 is N/C. Not Connected. (Not present)

[ Just to add:
The motherboard chipset is an Nvidia C51G, Northbridge chip,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_6_Series#GeForce_6100_and_6150_series

,and an Nvidia MCP51G, Southbridge chip.

In the photo on the Gateway Support page, the Northbridge chip is under the black finned heatsink, which is in-between the Processor, and black PCI-Express x16 slot.

The Southbridge chip is also under a black finned heatsink, and is to the right of the blue PCI slots, and below the two black ram memory slots.

(Color of the two Heatsinks may not be Black. Could be Gold colored, or bare aluminum, also)

(CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or Processor for short )

I Need the jumper settings for the fic k8mc51g motherboard from a emachines desktop computer. Putting the motherboard in a custom case.

There is a 4-Pin Speaker connector that is not used by Gateway on the motherboard (right beside) the CMOS jumper settings (Pins).
The clear CMOS settings jumper block is right beside the speaker pins. You can use this jumper block to clear the CMOS RAM, which is powered by the onboard real-time clock button cell battery.
Pin 3 is indicated by the markings on the board.
Settings: Pins 1 and 2 covered = Normal Operation Pins 2 and 3 covered = Clear CMOS enabled.crazyeyes746.jpg

I have the emachines model W3107 and am having problems turning it on and off. I have called emachines to order the part but they will not assist me because my computer is out of warranty. They do not even...

The On/Off switch is referred to as an ATX Power On switch.
Thought I would post that so it would make the switch simpler to search for.

This is one example of an ATX power on switch that I have found fits Many computers,

http://www.directron.com/atxswitch.html

The plastic button you push is the Power On Button assembly.
This plastic part can be heated with a hair dryer to soften the plastic, and easier removal of the defective Power On switch inside it.

{Hair dryer nozzle moved slowly back and forth on the Power On button assembly)

Usually there are two to three plastic tangs that protrude from the plastic housing, of the Power On button assembly.
These tangs are what hold the Power On switch in place.

After constant repeated heat from the inside of the computer, and due to age, the plastic becomes brittle. Breaks easily.
Heating the plastic should help prevent breakage.

Since the old Power On switch is going to hit the trash can anyway, you can also lower the entire assembly down in a bowl of fairly hot water. This to will help soften the plastic if a hair dryer is not available.

The new Power On switch has wires coming from it which connect to pins on the motherboard.
The plastic front of the computer is the Front Panel.

The area of pins on the motherboard, that the wires from the Front Panel connect to, is the Front Panel header.

The eMachines W3107 desktop computer uses an FIC K8MC51G motherboard.

This is the download page for the motherboard manual, for the FIC K8MC51G motherboard,

After you click on the above file name, you may be staring at a white blank page for up to 30 seconds.
After the first page comes up it may take additional time to fully download the file.
{Took 40 seconds to see the first page, and the file was fully downloaded.
Medium speed DSL connection}

Page 20 has the Front Panel Connector (Header) pinout.

Orient the board visually so we are both looking at it in the same orientation.
Processor to the Top, Ram Memory slots to the Right.

The Front Panel Connector is to the bottom right corner, BUT not in the corner itself.
It is the second connector of pins, over from the Right outside edge of the motherboard.

Two rows of pins.
5 across the Top, 4 across the Bottom.

The Pins across the Top are numbered Odd.
Starting from the Right side of the motherboard going towards the Left,
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9

The Pins across the Bottom are numbered Even.
Starting from the Right side of the motherboard going towards the Left,
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. There is NO Pin 10. Just a blank spot.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the Harddrive Activity LED light. (HDD LED)

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF used.

C) Pin 9 is Not Connected. {Not used}

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light.

If a Dual Color LED is used it connects to the header to the Right of the Front Panel Connector.
The one in the very bottom Right corner of the motherboard. {3 Pins}

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.

My power led connector (green, white) power sw connector (black, white) got out of place and i dont where they go

The eMachines T3302 desktop computer, uses an FIC K8M-800M motherboard.
(First international Computer, Inc.)

Where those wires go on the motherboard, is termed a Front panel header.

The Front Panel is the plastic front bezel of your computer.
(Where the Power On button is, Power On LED light, and so on)

Looking at the motherboard with the Processor to the Top, Ram Memory slots to the Right, the Front Panel header is at the bottom right corner, and over to the left.

Look at the jumper block in the bottom right corner. Right in the corner.
This is the LED type selector, jumper block.
Has 6 pins.
3 across the Top, 3 across the Bottom.

(This jumper block is to set whether you are using a Power On LED light, that has Dual Colors, or a Single color.
The default setting of the jumper on the block, is set to use a Dual Color LED light, for the Power On LED)

Move to the left of this jumper block. The Front Panel header is to the left of this jumper block.

(FIC terms it a Front Panel Block Connector)

It should be White in color.
Is right against the bottom edge of the motherboard. (Parallel to the outside edge of the motherboard)

Has two rows of pins sticking up.
5 across the Top.
4 across the Bottom.

The pins are numbered from the Right, going towards the Left.

(From the Power On LED jumper block, towards the Front Panel header)

On the Top row going from Right, towards the Left,
Pins 1 ,3, 5, 7, and 9.

On the Bottom row going from the Right, towards the Left,
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the Power On LED light.
Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
(Green)

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Power On switch.
Pin 5 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
(Black)

[Although it really doesn't matter which way the wires go. It's a SWITCH]

C) Pins 2 and 4 are for the HarDDrive activity LED.
Pin 2 is for the Positive wire ( + )

D) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Reset switch.
(IF used)

If any of your LED lights are dim, after attaching the Positive wire for each LED, it's because the Positive wire is on the wrong pin.
Switch the wires around

HOW TO CONNECT FRONT AUDIO PINS

the connector is marked F_audio and it is located directly behind the rear facing audio jacks. should be only one plug either marked "hd audio" OR "ac97 audio". some cases are setup for either, but you only need one of them depending on what your motherboard supports.

11) F_AUDIO (Front Audio Connector)
This connector supports either HD (High Definition) or AC97 front panel audio module. If you wish
to use the front audio function, connect the front panel audio module to this connector. Check the pin
assignments carefully while you connect the front panel audio module. Incorrect connection
between the module and connector will make the audio device unable to work or even damage it.
For optional front panel audio module, please contact your chassis manufacturer.
By default, the audio driver is configured to support HD Audio. To connect an AC97 front panel
audio module to this connector, please refer to the instructions on page 72 about the software
settings.

I would like an internal view of eMachine T4150 to be sure everything is connected correctly

I could not find an internal photo with everything connected but I could find a picture of the motherboard but it was very small. Just make sure your graphics card is inserted fully into AGP slot, processor is clipped down, memory is clipped down, and your hard drives are on one IDE ribbon cable and your rom drives are on the secondary IDE channel. (jumpers are correctly set to Master/Slave). Then make sure the CMOS jumper is set correctly and check the button cell battery for the CMOS clock. That's it

How to connect the front panel sould device?

Do you mean speaker or front panel audio? The front panel audio connector is located at the rear of the board, behind the PCI connectors - the speaker connections are in the panel connector block (2x10 pin header) located at the front left of the board.

With the board in it's normal position, the speaker pins are on the right hand side of that block, on the pin nearest the front and the one 3 positions behind that
