Using Camtasia We are using Camtasia recording software on a Dell computer. I am able to record the Line in from the factory sound card but not the line out. Is there a soundcard add on that would work in this situation?

I am using it to record a Doctor/Patient consultation so I need to record both sides of the conversation.

  • dhooper718 Apr 03, 2009

The Line out is coming from a web conference

You have 3 Audio source options when you record using Camtasia,

1) Speaker audio
2) line in
3) Microphone

You won't be able to record using line out.

Do you have a Microphone already attached to the Line in?  What is plugged into the line in?

Camstudio dont work windows xp

Yup, Jing is a great alternative to Camstudio that can be used to record screen on Windows XP, but note that its free version has 5 minutes' recording limitation. Thus you may try this free screen recorder, it's totally free and features recording screen, taking screenshots, uploading videos to youtube.com and many more.

Audio recorder

the cause is using the mixer incorrectly, or mixer is junk, IDK,
now idea at all what system parts are there, not a clue here.
in the mixer, uncheck microphone.
Computers can be set up 1000s of ways, you know?
Not even a clue at all what PC< desktop or laptpo
no clue at all. just vague DJ bla bla....
answer is so will pure generic electronics (im certified tech. retired)
Most PCs of all kinds have sound card, or built in. (or just 1 chip)
be it a destop or lap top,
my PC has a sound card, (fancy,) DTop,
with 7 channels and all that stuff.with matching powerful software.

on a real desktop with a real sound card it has many jacks there
not just 2, (mic/speaker.,)
mine has line in, and line out. and many others for speakers,

there are 2 ways to record
1: using and external , say Mp3 recorder. (and 100 other ways )
2: and using the built in sound recorder in windows, do you have windows. you never said that nor which windows

the 1st choice is hardware, pure electronics, in fact tape recorders worked there for since first one made, using line in. to recorders.

choice 2, is software, you can buy a APP to do that, that is better than what Windoz offeres.

see here?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_card

see that lime green wire?

the top sound cards all have special softeware
that has a super fancy MIXER, the mixer allows you to mix
anything you want. with a click of a button
if you dont have good sound card or matching software
all you get is windows basic crippleware. weak and very limited.
so next time tell the helper what you have.
fully and get 10x better answers.

here ill wet your whistle, on what can be done.
you want 2 CHANNEL STEREO recorders.
or even TOSLINK connections.?
How good is your source music, ? if poor then use cheap hard/software but don;t expect windows to do this well.
if running windows 10 go to the MS windows, STORE,
and buy a better audio software package.

ideas, are endless in recording
hardware super good. or better,

last is fancy app software like this.
I use this
it does it all. for near nutt'n.
GOLDWAVE (ive had it for 20 years too)

https://www.goldwave.com/

last
the word Disk Jock is a persons or is one of many hardware products, not stated by you.
is it this. old box? by maker NUMARK?

https://www.numark.com/images/product_downloads/dm925_referencemanuals_00.pdf

in the above jack 15 line out goes to sound card, LINE IN.
then in the PC you play or record off of LINE -in in the PC.
if you dont have a real PC with a Real sound card
this can be hard, using the MIC as a line input will cause
huge overload saturation of the mic amps, and sound like H3LL..

Camtasia Won't Audibly Record on new Toshiba Laptop

I suggest you to check your system audio setting and reinstall Camtasia. If such problem persists, you may try another free web-based tool which may work on your computer.

How do i record a cd using the computers sound card input jacks?

Download the _free_ "Audacity" software:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net

and install it.

This software lets you choose "line-in" (the socket on your sound-card) and lets you click "Record" and "Pause Recording" and "Save as WAV file".

Then, any CD-writing software can be used to "create audio CD", reading your WAV file(s).

How do i record video images to the scaleo p pc

If you're talking about recording your desktop then you need a third party program, there isn't software that comes on the computer that can do that. I use a program called Camtasia: You can get Camtasia here I haven't found a free one that I like, sorry. If you're not talking about recording your desktop I have no clue what you're asking.

Camtasia video capture = black screen,

I will not be back to your service. Your 'smilemaker' expert was rude, succinct, had no idea how to solve the problem and gave me a bad taste in my mouth. I have since identified the problem to be one of Direct X variety which is not working correctly in the register.

Nikon Coolpix P2 digital camera, can i use it as webcam?if yes please write me how can i d it, do i need any software for it.write me email on [email protected]

We get this question alot. Not very many digital still cameras can actually be used as a webcam. This is mostly due to the lack of drivers for it. SONY does have a tutorial for using some of their models as a webcam, but my question is, with focusing issues, why would you?

But for now, I don't think so. Better to try getting your camcorder to perform that function.

Or pick up the Creative's LiveCam Optica AF webcam.
Sensor: 2 megapixel sensor
Lens: High quality precision lens
Microphone: Built-in adaptive array microphones
Highest Still Image Resolution: 8 megapixels 3200 x 2400
Highest Video Resolution: 1600 x 1200
Focus: Auto
Interface: High-Speed USB 2.0 (bkwd compatible with USB 1.1)

$129.99

This will perform many of the functions you want in a webcam from a still camera and is designed as such.

The A520 (and I guess all Powershot cameras with RemoteShooting capability) can be used as a webcam. You only need a screen capture software, like Camtasia Recorder from the Camtasia Studio and Canon's own software, Camerawindow -> Remote shooting. You only need to start these programs, enable the Liveoutput option in the Camtasia Recorder, place the capture frame over the Remoteshooting window and start recording.
