There are a lot of driver issues with win 10,go on line to the Halion site and see they have a driver for win 10 , if not you may have to update the program.
The best way to restore deleted files associated with the program is to re-install the software. This way you will insure that the program works properly.
Some software when you delete it from the system before re-installing it, will ask if you want to repair it. You can choose that option, if it becomes available.
If you'd like to remove them from your computer you would need to do one of the following 2 things: 1. if they were installed from a disc or .exe you can use the add remove program option from the control panel of your pc...once in their look for the name of either the manufacturer or the plugin name and select remove.
2. If they were installed from simple dragging and dropping of the .dll or folder files then youll need to go to the main plugin location and physically delete the files. In most cases this location can be found in one or more places depending on your operating system: 1. C-->program files--> steinberg -->vstPlugins or C-->program files-->vstplugins 2. C-->x86-->program files--> steinberg -- vstplugins or C-->x86-->program files-->vstplugins
is there another soundcard installed in the pc? it seems that your tascam unit does not contain a midi bank, so you prolly have a midi device built into the stock soundcard. you must amplify that soundcards output to be able to hear the midi.
Due to the DIGI001 ASIO settings, the HALion engine and program should be used as a plug-in (VSTi) in your master DAW, (i.e., Sonar, ProTools, Cubase, etc.) and it should fix the problem. Ensure that your drivers are updated and direct all signal traffic to the input device that is shared throughout your system or simply reassign your "patchwork" through the main DAW as mentioned above.
vb-1 is a cubase virtual instrument this is where cubase was stalling, When i uninstalled cubase i went into the vst plugin folder and saw the folder vb-1 [virtual bass] I read the text file within and it told me to copy the dll files within into the active vst plugin folder. when i re installed cubase all was well. I have been using cubase for years and did not have this problem until i installed the e-mu 0404 pci card, or the audigy card
check first the sample rate maybe its to high like instead of 44k. its in 48 96 or something like that so the buffering isnt catching with the recoding . alogn with your lattency configuration must devices are ok in 512 latency.
and also be shure not to be recording directly to tyour external hard drive
in case of plugin overload issue it would not stop recording suddenly it would slow down first with some crackles and then stop or must shure freeze.
so impretty shure its somethin else.
