I purchased PowerShot Canon SD1100 IS yesterday. I took a few pictures with the camera. I downloaded these pictures. I could do this without installing new software since I had old Canon SD600.
Then I realized I was supposed to download software first. Now I am not getting Direct Transfer menu to download latest photos option.
On my old camera, it would show the Direct Transfer display menu. I could then click the light blue button to download my latest photos.
Well, will this new camera, the Direct Transfer display menu is not showing when I plug in download cord and put camera in playback mode. I do not have choice to download latest photos only. Little blue light does not go on.
How can I get Direct Transfer display menu to show, so I can download new photos?

Could you see your pictures on camera's screen? Did you changed your computer's operation system? Try to see your pictures on your computer while using a card reader. Let me know if you will need for any further assistance. Good luck!

press the function button and change the picture size to postcard-there is only one setting that allows you to do date and time stamp-once you have rigth pic size setting-pretty sure it says postcard-go back to menu and you will see date and time highlighted on menu

Try a retailer near you to see if they will allow you to test your camera with a SD card from a display camera.
Good luck, I hope this helps!

Make sure that the "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" service is started. This is disabled by default on 2K3 boxes.

Hi and welcome to FixYa.
Sounds like your reading right from the manual. <grin>
Try this.
Connect the camera to the computer via the usb cable. Set the mode switch to playback and press the power button, then:
on your pc go to Start>All Programs (or Programs)>Canon Utilities and find Canon Window. Double click on it and it should fire the program. Let me know if you have any problems. If not, feel free to rate my solution.
