Hi, After re-installing an OS or a Service Pack, you need to do a re-install of the particular drivers(Sound,Graphic,Chipset...etc.) to keep your computer fully running. Thank You.
You most likely need the drivers for the audio device. These would have come on a CD with the computer when it was new. You may be able to download audio drivers from the computer manufacturer's website if you have the model number of the computer... or from the motherboard manufacturer's website if you have the model of the motherboard.
If there is a sound-card that you are plugging into, you would need to go to the sound card manufacturer's website to download the drivers for that model of sound card. The model number and manufacturer of the sound card will be either etched on the board or there will be a sticker.
Since this is most likely an obsolete PC using obsolete software and an obsolete sound card, finding the drivers may be near impossible without the original install CDs that came with the computer or sound card.
You need to download the sound card driver. www.drivermax.com visit the above site and download the driver utility, run it and it will find the needed drivers for free.
1st make sure that your speaker or headset is working try it on other devices,If your speaker is ok,you nid to reinstall the sound card driver just go to your computer website(e.g. Dell,Acer etc.)just type the model no. of your PC then download the sound card driver, then install.2nd solution is to restore your PC back to the time when it's properly working.
That sounds alot like the microphone booster in control panel. Depending on what version of windows your are using, you can just open the sound control from the taskbar and go to the advanced settings and uncheck the setting "microphone booster". Adjust microhpone volume accordingly.
You need to install the driver for the sound card. It should be on the disk that came with your computer, or you can download it from the Toshiba site. It would be a good idea to look at your computer documentation to get the make and model of the sound card that was built in, before going to the web site..
Their is a chance that either the sound device or driver is missing. Reload the sound software. If you don't have it look at the mane and model of you computer or sound card make andf model(mother board it on board sound) and download the drivers nd sofrtware from their website.
Linked above is the download page for all Creative Sound cards. Choose your model sound card and it will take you to a download page for drivers with all supported OS's, including XP
