CLJ 3505 powers up, calibrates, gets to ready then comes up with a 13.20.000 service error, jam in transfer area. Absolutely no paper in transfer area... flags seem to be working properly, any suggestions??
There is a set of sensor flags on the bottom of the paper input unit (paper feed assembly). You may be able to see them if you take out tray 2, remove the toner cartridges, and turn the printer on its back. One side of the rod can get stuck, it will make it look curved, it should be straight. "un-stick" the stuck side (typically the left side) so the flags can move freely.

For those users who are having a problem with the printer motor, this C level problem is referred to as 'developing disengaging motor rotation error'. Most likely, this problem points to an issue with the function of the DC controller: either it has failed or it has affected the developing disengaging assembly. The solution is quite simple and the user may fix the error in a matter of few steps.
The first step is to reconnect the J16 connectors that are used for the developing disengaging motor to the J1100 connectors that are used for the DC controller PCB (that is the printer circuit board of the DC controller). After connecting these two connectors to each other, the user must replace the developing disengaging drive assembly directly.
The final step is to replace the DC controller PCB, after which the printer is to be recalibrated. for more information....

When faced with a 59.99 error, we have found additional
ways to solve the issue since the service manual was written.
Error:
59.99.00
Description:
An error occurred in the secondary transfer engaging
mechanism.
Solution
Follow the troubleshooting steps below:
Fuser seated improperly. Reseat the fuser.
NOTE: You may hear grinding
sounds from the right, rear of the printer associated with this specific failure
also.
Faulty secondary transfer engagement sensor. Replace the
secondary transfer engagement sensor. (PS16, part of paper pickup/feed
assembly)
Faulty secondary transfer engaging solenoid. Replace the
secondary transfer engaging solenoid. (SL4, part of paper pickup/feed
assembly)
Faulty feed motor. Replace the feed motor. (M1)
Faulty DC controller PCB. Replace the DC controller
PCB.
If the 59.99 error only occurred after removing and
reinstalling the paper pickup/feed assembly, what may have happened is that the
secondary transfer engaging solenoid SL4 may have become dislocated. See figure
below. Verify position of tab on top of solenoid.
