I believe you have to go through the steps of running a hot water cycle which is on page 9 of the owners manual, 7.1 listed under "FIRST TIME PREPARATION" A. through F. If you don't have the manual, send me your e-mail and I can send it to you.

Hi, I found your description very interesting even though my machine is a Jura...

All of a sudden I had no steam and no water.

I could hear the pump chugging and trying hard, but nothing came out of the nozzle.

First, check to see if the nozzle is blocked. If it's not, try turning on the tap (faucet) and PUSH IT IN towards the machine.

If you now get steam and water, there is a quick fix.

Switch off the mains, unplug the coffee machine and take all normal precautions not to electrocute yourself.

There is a small cam on the (Part 9161205 - Faucet rod stem) which pulls the tap IN as it is opened and OUT as it is closed.

1] Remove the coffee container - there are two phillips screws only, and it lifts off.

2] Remove the top casing. There are two phillips screws either side at the front top, hidden by the door, one star head screw under the water tank, and one normal phillips screw under the water tank in a deep channel.

3] Take a look at the small cam on (Part 9161205 - Faucet rod stem) and see if it moves in and out as you turn the water/steam tap on and off. If it doesn't the plastic has sheared off. If it does move in and out - this is not the fix for you!

4] If it does NOT move in and out as you turn the water/steam tap on and off, find a small self-tapping screw and screw through the angled cam hole into the faucet rod stem. Pop the top casing and the coffee container back on and your machine is now fixed!

Now for a delicious cappuccino62e2053.gif!

Just a guess here but if you are not using soft water you may have a hard water scale coating on the sensor. The sensor is preventing the heating element from powering up because it thinks there is no water. Try filling the machine with vinegar for several hours (no more than overnight) This will dissolve hard water deposits and hopefully clear the sensor. (the sensor should be a simple continuity contact. If you can look inside and see a metal button and it is fouled clean it off.)

Service 8 on Capresso 1300

The gears inside are clogged with coffee grounds. The machine will need to be taken apart carefully, and the gears cleaned of the coffee. I just did mine a C3000, and you will have to be careful to remember how all the parts go back together. This takes a T15 hex key for the screws. Good luck.

Capresso C1300 LCD stays on stating "Hot water cycle necessary"

I had one that set for 6 months that had that problem. Air had gotten into the water lines. Opened the hot water tap a few times and then removed the end of the water line that runs from the solenoid to heater block to at the solenoid end to bleed air out. It could also have been some calcium deposits that blew out with the air blocking the line. Then I replaced the end of the line, powered the machine up and it worked normally. Note: Jura Capresso and Capresso machines are complicated and it takes some mechanical know how to open them up and service them. They also have four special screws on the back that requires a special tool to open
