Number SE-R0265 is not a Player. It is the model number of the Remote Control for a player.

However, your question is somewhat generic for all Player/Recorders. First you must use good original manufactures DVD media for recording. TY (Taiyo Yuden) is the Toshiba recommended media in many of its manuals. Verbatim and Fuji are also very good. They are more expensive, but very much worth the extra cost in reliability and headaches. Also, some older recorders will have trouble recording/playing back/finalizing newer 8X or 16X faster media. Try to by 4X and slower media if you are having problems, even with the three recommended above.

Second, DVD-R or R/W media has to be 'Finalized' before it can play on other recorders. DVD media do not. Try using DVD media if you continue to have trouble. Also, there are two recording/format types you can choose to record with on your DVDR Recorder, Video and VR, on -R/W media. Video is automatic Video format only on DVD media and do not need to be formatted (I think) before use or finalized after done recording.
If you are still having trouble using -R/W DVDs on other players, Try DVD DVDs in Video Format.

Finally, Toshiba is know for DVD media sensitivity. Many of their recorders have Firmware upgrades. Be sure you have the latest by looking in your manual to find your Firmware Version, then check out Toshiba's support site for any upgrades. But, start with good media, finalizing -R/W media, using Video disc format, then using DVD media, in this order.

How to record dvd in ordinary format?

I will presume it plays back fine on your dvd recorder.
In this case, you need to "finalize disc" for it to be playable on other dvd players.

Also, possibly, If you are using a dvd-ram disc, you must make sure that the dvd-player you are trying to use even supports dvd-ram. Most will NOT.

Also, Make sure you are not recording in VR mode. Only some very new dvd-players will support VR mode discs.

Toshiba dvr will load some dvds & not others

My machine has also done this since it was new. I was just about to bring it in for repair when I thought I would try one more thing. I turned on the recorder. I put in the movie that would not play and let it load (of course it would not load). I pushed the on/off button on the recorder and held it down until the "wait" message came up on the display. After the message disappeared I turned the recorder back on. To my surprise the movie loaded and played. I tried all the other movies I had trouble with and they also played. I hope this helps. I saved my self over 200 dollars in repair bills. I was quite surprised at the lack of help from toshiba.

Cyberhome DVR 1600 DVD

What format are you recording in?If the recorder is set for DVD +R, and your playback machine won't read the disc, you may need to record on a DVD-R, or a DVD +-R. Or vice-versa. Some DVDRW discs will record on one machine and won't play on another. The media are incompatible. Another problem - if you are copying a copy-protected disc, it might not play back either. Are you sure you are finalizing the disc? This process takes 4-5 minutes and requires two or three responses sometime.

Toshiba D-VR610KU recorded disc won't play in my Daewoo DVD5800

What are the compatible types of DVD's that the Daewoo DVD5800 player is supposed to play? Is DVD-R among the compatible types? Try playing the new recordings on a computer that has a DVD drive, or a friend's computer.
