We just hooked up the amana ars266kbw to the water. I'm concerned about not getting water through the door. The front fill button works great. The ice has made 1 batch in the last 4 hrs. I understand it can take a while for the ice, but the water from the back button isn't giving us water.
The unit was run with water hooked up and everything running well. It was unplugged amd moved. Now hooked back up to water and power. The back grey pad only gives ice cubes, regardless of the setting (Water, Crushed, Cubed). If we lock the panel, it does not run. I have unplugged and plugged back in (reset) but still not working right. The unit was run with water hooked up and everything running well. It was unplugged amd moved. If the unit has been runfor some time prior to connecting the water the fill tube may be frozen up, he solution is to turn off defrost overnight with door open and then turn back on, flush water through when turned back on to clear old water and air.

Pull the machine away from the wall far enough for you to move around. With a 1/4" nut driver or drill with a 1/4" adapter, remove the lower portion,(on some models all you have to take off is the left side only) this will expose the water valve. Check for broken lines, also have someoine press the water lever in the door and see if water runs out and where at exactly. With the back off you should be able to isolate the problem.
dissconnect water line coupling behind lower kick plate under door. push water dispenser; and sell if water flows out line. keep a towel handy. it there is water; then, the problem is in the door itself. of course, make sure the water solenioids are working.
there is a drain pan for condensation under the fridge. over this many years the is dust and lint that will fill the pan and displace the water on your floor. while your under there clean the coils. this will help get every year possible from your fridge
When you first hook water up to the refrigerator you have to fill a tank in the fridge. Open the water supply behind the ref. turn the control on the front of the ref to water and hold a glass under the spout as if you are filling a glass . You may have to wait 3-4 minutes forthe tank and lines to fill with water before you get any to come out into the glass. The water my be discolored at first so run a few glass full through before drinking . hope this helps
it could be the power outage. electronics are very sensitive, it could be damage by just static electricity alone. i suggest that you can plug it to an automatic voltage regulator with a time delay so that it could save your unit after a power interruption.
regarding your problem now, it could just be a touch pad problem. maybe that is the only part fried by the surges. i assume the refrigerator cooling performance was not affected. only the touchpad panel is affected.
