Hi, The MSI Mega Stick normally comes with a utility/installer CD. On running setup, there is a software which would allow you to download the firmware to the Stick. Reinstalling or updating the firmware should reactivate your MP3 player. If the CD is not available, you can try download the same from the MSI site, the file name is MS5511and2_3.00.13_M.zip. Instructions are also posted on the site > http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=firmware&maincat_no=124&prod_no=47 Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

    P.S.

A note from the same site,"While MEGA STICK can't be recognized by PC, please don't put battery when update firmware."

Lenovo r 61, type- 8933 am 7 error 2100 hddo error (1) pxe-e61 media test failure pxe-m0f exiting broadcom pxe rom

Hi chetan5karma,

I see that you are having issues with you Thinkpad R61 Laptop getting an Error 7, PXE-e61 Media test Failure.

I Believe the Error that you are receiving means that the Hard Drive in your Laptop is not responding anymore or is not anymore fixable, the error that your mentioned states that your "HDD" Hard Drive needs to be replaced on your Laptop there is no other way to fix this error you Hard Drive is already undetected and most probably not bootable anymore.

You can google pxe-e61 there will be many possible causes but all fall in replacing the Hard Drive, the only option your can try with this concern is removing your Hard Drive and reconnecting it back again, this is to see if the Laptop will detect the Hard Drive again or not.

Also you can try reformatting the Hard Drive using a Windows Installation Disc to see if it will be detected by Windows.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for choosing Fixya,

Rca opal m4002a

trouble - this player is not MAC compatible - you will always get that error

everyone else -
The Opal has a reset hole on the back of the unit in which a toothpick (non metallic) can be inserted to reboot the player.
If this does not work, I suggest that you reformat the player by using the WindowsTM format command on the unit. To reformat the memory
  1. Right click on the device within the Explorer or My Computer window
  2. Select the format command (full format) to reformat the internal memory of the device.
  3. Reinstall the firmware from http://download.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/opal_fwutility_v2.3.0.exe

FOXDA FM-6602 MP3 Player

The Player was damaged and requested you to reformat the drive "media". Now you've reformatted it with a different FileSystem. You have to format it using the "Command Prompt".. Click Start, then select "Run..." Then Type "cmd" you'll get a black screen, and a prompt line. Type format X: /fs:fat note: (X:) is the drive letter for your mp3 player's media. Now agree by typing Y. If you got errors, that mostly means that your media went bad & not worth the repair. Tell us what happen with you. Good Luck

Cannot format my MP3 player

I'd suggest to reformat it using FAT filesystem. In linux, type mkdosfs -F32 /dev/sdb1 (or however your device is named)

Write-protect cannot be removed

I have a few suggestions for this, but when I give solutions, I always give them in an order of safest to most difficult(or potentially damaging). It would be in your best interest to try these in the order I give them: #1 (assuming you have xp if you're using a usb 2.0 device) Go to start>run> type "cmd" to get a command prompt. Type "CHKDSK" and type the drive letter of your Pendrive and "/F" (example-"chkdsk E: /F") and hit enter. You will probably get alot of errors as it checks the disk and once its free of errors, formats it. When it's done, SAFELY remove the drive, and plug it in again. If that doesnt work, try number 2 #2 DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! You are about to enter the registry. If you do not know what you are doing in the registry, do not go in there. Also, you should know how to back up the registry before you go in. If you do not know, this solution might not be for you. Start > Run > type ?regedit? - Go to the following: My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDe vicePolicies - Double click on the string ?WriteProtect? and change the ?Value Data? box to ?0?
