What is the make and model of the motherboard? The LED code means nothing without this information.

POST 50 for Award BIOS + nForce2 chipset - usually is South Bridge problem (chip in area AGP/first PCI with name nVIDIA MCP) - integrated to him USB-controller. Chek it temperature, try press to him and start computer. If it can boot - need to burn/solder SouthBridge chip. Else - need to change (resold) this chip with another good. Another chance is Clear CMOS. If system can boot, but after Save CMOS in (BIOS Setup) POST-card stop at POST 50 again - need to change SB too. Third chance (but unlikely) - reflash BIOS with any (may be old) version. It can to do on any nVidia systems or another use LPC flash (details can read in article http://rom.by/index.php?title=Art_of_BIOS_flashing ). 1. Check temperature of South Bridge (

SOURCE: motherboard won't boot up

Hey there,

This causes if you havnt connected the power cable coming from th power button to proper jack or pin.

Check out the pin in which ur power button cable is inserted.

Does your system boot when u press the restart or shut down icon from ur windows (OS). If it is not letting ur system to boot then you've been attacked with the Worm viruses. These viruses dont let ur system to boot because they keep their process running untill ur power is off.

Gimme ur acknowladge by rating me.

Thanx.

Restore my emachines w3507 back to factory settings how do i do it

Restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer
If done properly the user should get to a screen similar to the below screen. Select the option for Safe mode command prompt only Windows Advanced Options Menu
Please select an option: Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt Enable Boot Logging
Enable VGA mode
Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
Debugging Mode Start Windows Normally
Reboot
Return to OS Choices Menu Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice. To perform a system restore, follow these steps: 1.Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK. 2.On the General tab, click Launch System Restore. 3.Select Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next. 4.Calendar dates in bold are possible restore points. Click the most recent one to view system restore information. 5.Select a system checkpoint or an installation restore point, and then click Next. 6.Close all other programs. 7.To start the system restore, click Next. 8.Your computer restarts. It is possible for the Windows operating system on your eMachines computer to have a critical failure. If the operating system on your eMachines computer is failing, you can use your recovery discs to restore your computer. Recovery discs come with your purchase of an eMachine, and contain your operating system and all your basic drivers. You can recover your eMachines W series in about an hour.

Turn off your computer and press "F8" to enter the BIOS menu. Tab over to the "Boot Sequence" or "Boot Order" menu. Move your optical drive to the top of the list. Press "F11" to exit and save changes. Insert your recovery disc into your optical drive, then restart your computer. Press any key to boot from disc. Select the "Full Recovery" option from your recovery disc menu. Allow the recovery procedure to complete. Hope this helps.

Cannot access my computer up date windows vista (TM) BUILD 6000 has caused an error code 0xC004E002 i'm running vista home basic

Try doing a System Restore and choose to restore the system to a date when in was working successfully last, or maybe just before then:
Boot into Safe Mode, then go Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then choose System Restore. Once the System Restore is complete, let the system boot normally and see what happens.

My HP Pavillion dv6000 will not boot at all. It makes it past the windows screen then a blue screen pops up. I've tried safe mode debugging mode system restore.. but nothing is seeming to work !! i need...

take note of what the blue screen text says, if you can get it to stop in blue screen, write down what the screen says and go to another computer and type those items into a google search, that will lead you to the error code page of microsoft and perhaps a better idea on what is going on with your pc

Led 1 and led 2 both are red, what does that indicate?

Led 2 flashing indicates the the computer is undergoing POST (testing components). If it flashing then something is wrong, usually the computer beeps a cumber of times which translates to a code eg ram error.

When led 2 is stable, the computer completed POST and is booting up through bios and then the OS.

Led 1 on which means the computer is receiving power.

Big issues with Vista on my Inspiron!

Did you try to "Restore this computer to another point in time"? Then you press F8, and choose "System Restore" then another screen asks if you want to go to safe desktop, or do a system restore, when you select system restore, another window, a bit like a calendar, and you choose a date prior to when you had problems?
Otherwise, please try this... when dell screen comes up on keyboard hit CTRL+ F11 twice only then you will see Dell pc restore by Symantec.Hit on restore and hit on i agree and select the option Restore the pc to dell factory settings and then it will restore the pc.
Otherwise you will have to obtain a Windows Vista install DVD, boot on this and repair/reinstall from That.. anyway try whats proposed and get back to me..

DST Short Status Test Fail Error Code 1000 0146

DST (Drive Self Test) failed. this simply means that the drive is no longer stable. If you are unable to boot to windows or safe mode and this is the error you get you might need to do a low level format if you still want to use it or do a debug script then repartition and re-format the drive.

The Low-level partition - will reinitialize your drive to the factory settings.

Debug Script - removes DOS and non-DOS partitions on the hard drive. It also allows you to convert a drive from an incompatible partition structure to one that will work with FDISK.EXE such as, converting Linux partitions to MS-DOS partitions.

For you to use the Low-level format and to completely wipe out HDD data. Use the format software from http://www.killdisk.com, download the CD ISO image , burn to CD, ad boot from CD , the rest can be found in the menu.

In using the debug script use this :
Insert the boot diskette that contains the Debug command into the respective drive.
Restart the computer.
A black screen with Microsoft Windows® 95 Startup Menu will appear. Press the <5> key on the keyboard followed by the <Enter> key. The boot process will conclude with an A:\> prompt, followed by a blinking underline (cursor).
From the A:\> prompt, type the following commands and press the <Enter> key after each command:
NOTICE: Performing the following will remove all data from your hard disk drive.

NOTE: Type the bolded text only (the debug prompt is a dash). You will receive an error if you type anything other than the bold text. The non-bolded text represents the system response that will appear after typing each command and press the <Enter> key.

debug
-F 200 L1000 0
-A CS:100
xxxx:0100 MOV AX,301
xxxx:0103 MOV BX,200
xxxx:0106 MOV CX,1
xxxx:0109 MOV DX,80

NOTE: Type 80 for the Main hard drive - HD 0, or type 81 for the Second hard drive - HD 1.

xxxx:010C INT 13
xxxx:010E INT 20
xxxx:0110 (Leave this line blank and press the <Enter> key)
-G

The message, Program terminated normally, appears. Turn off the computer by pressing the power button.
On the next startup the hard drive must be partitioned and formatted.

Hope this helps to save your drive.
