I want to replace the water pump from my Inglis Washer

I want to remove the water pump from my Inglis Super Capacity Plus Royal washing machine. Machine is about 10 or 11 years old. I've removed the hoses and hold down clips, but the pump does not slide off the shaft. I don't want to force it, so could you please tell me the procedure for properly removing pump body?
I can tell the water is coming out around the steel shaft, even when turned off, and nowhere's else, so I'm assuming a pump body replacement will fix the problem.

Yes you can force it off it's bad anyway so go for it and when you do get it off clean the rust off the shaft before you put the new one on. You are doing great.

I have a whirlpool ultimate care ii heavy duty super capacity plus washer that fills, and agitates, but will not "spin" or drain water. What do you guys think needs replaced?

"If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:

If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.

If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it."

Machine pumps out water but will not spin

There is a chance that the lid switch is bad but more than likely you have a bad motor. Unfortunately, GE placed a motor with a computer board in their newer washing machines and it is prohibitively expensive to replace.

Washing machine will fill with water, but won't spin.

hi there.
If the washer won't drain or spin there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing.16 Mar 2014

I received an Inglis Washing machine from soneone on freecycle. They thought the belt had broken, doesn't have a belt, it's gear driven. I'd bet the noise you hear is the coupling going out, (rubber). Good luck.

Replace water pump. Common problem. Unscrew the control panel ,two screws on each end. Flip control panel over and unsnap gold brackets from base to the back. Lift up housing and disconnect lid switch, remove housing. The water pump is in the front lower that has two hoses , disconnect hoses and unsnap pump. My sister fixed hers in about 25 minutes.

sounds like a drain pump issue, not able to remove water quick enough before the centrifical force of tub spinning throws it over the top, remove the pump hoses and look for blockages

White Kenmore 3.6 cu. ft. HE2 Plus Super Capacity Plus Front Load Washer

Sorry for my delay, I hope you found out how to clear. If not, remove the three screws that hold the front kick plate on, then the pump will be right in front of you. Remove the filter (unscrew) and watch for water. You can remove everything from there.
