Since you have a PCI-e expansion slot any graphics card that is PCI-e interface will work, it all depends on what you do with your computer if you game on it then you'll want a more expensive card, if you don't do gaming then you can get by with a less expensive card. Just remember that just because you put in a very expensive graphics card doesn't mean you'll be able to play all the new games at high settings because the rest of you system is quite old and will not be able to keep up with an expensive graphics card it's what's called a bottle neck. Whether it be your processor and or your memory being the bottle neck in your case it would be both. So keeping all that in mind a low priced PCI-e graphics card would do just fine. Hope this helps

SOURCE: emachines d3315 video failed - no signal to monitor.

Hello,

Is the system work using the old video card? if yes then, use it and then reconfigure the in the bios setup using the PCI video card. You can insert it simultaneously and then use first the old video in preparation for the configuration using the new PCI video card

SOURCE: Onboard VGA port disabled, in Vista

You should try to disable it in the hardware list.

E-machines have an odd bios where not all the functions of the motherboard are available to the user.

If you can find the make and model of your board there is a good chance you can find the PROPER bios for it.

Emachines use motherboards from a variety of regular motherboard suppliers

My older e-machine has a hacked bios so that I can alter ALL the settings.

SOURCE: will my emachine t5048 support

Your system supports PCI Express x16. So look for a compatible video card which should atleast have 512mb of video memory.

Hi i have an etower 500is desktop pc i am working on. i have successfully upgraded the ram to 500mb and the harddrive to 40gb. i would like to know if there is a video card that will work well with this...

There are 3 requirements for a video card for that computer:

1...An available PCI slot. The best I could tell from the specs for that computer is that it has 3 PCI slots and two of them are probably occupied with a sound card and a modem or possibly a network card.
2...A PCI video card, the smaller the better since the computer case is a minitower.
3...A video card that is compatible with (has the drivers for) Windows 98. I did a quick search for one that supports Windows 98 and all I could find was either sold out or no longer available. Good luck finding one. Maybe eBay.

No offense, but that computer is really old. You'd be better served buying a new computer. Computers, such as this are only $300: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-EL1352G-41w/15686810

I have an emachine t2984 with a factory video card. I want to upgrade my video card but read that there are no expansion slots (PCI-e) to do this. Does this mean i need to buy a new computer to play video...

A video card can use AGP, PCI, and PCI-E slots. If it is a older model it should have either AGP or PCI ( Mainly AGP ). Many video cards are still available for these slots.
If you want to play the top games of these day though, most of the time these slots will not work games like this. They COULD work, but the best cards of today is PCI-E. Good luck and do not forget to rate :)

Type of video card

The Compaq Presario SR1630NX desktop computer, has a PCI-Express x16 slot on the motherboard, for a PCI-Express graphics card.

The Presario SR1630NX came out in 2005.
PCI-Express 2.0 technology came out January 15, 2007.

The Presario SR1630NX uses the PCI-Express 1.1 technology.

You can use a graphics card based on the PCI Express 2.0 technology, however.

PCI Express 2.0 is Backward Compatible with PCI Express 1.1

You just won't get the full capability, of a graphics card based on the PCI Express 2.0 technology.

Will you notice?

NO

Where is the pci graphics card slot for the dell dimenson 4500s?

The Motherboard Model for the Dell 4500s is 4T346, this has only two PCI Slots. it does not have AGP slot or a PCI-E slot for a Sperate VGA Card. Unless you have a old PCI VGA card, you have no option of upgrading your VGA. ( assuming you have a old PCI Vga card, chanced are the onboard VGA will have more memory than the old PCI VGA card)

HP Pavillion m7755uk How can I upgrade the Graphic Board to a more powerful one for video editing and what PCI slot has it got is it a PCI or PCI-E connection on the motherboard

Hello,

Your Pavillion has 3 PCI slots and 1 PCI-E slot. I would recommend using the PCI-E slot as it is the fastest. Also, for editing I would go with a 1GB PCI-E card as this will give you 1GB of DEDICATED video memory. Once you have the card, it is as simple as putting the card in the PCI-E slot (The shorter slot of the four you will see) and powering the PC on.

Good Luck

Video card

Hi Yosemic..

Bad news for you... your computer don't have an AGP or PCI-e slot, so a video card upgrade is possible, but no recommended cause you will have to buy a PCI VGA (very slow).

Your computer only have 3 PCI slots as you can see at this link
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim2400/en/sm_en/specs.htm

Better buy a new one..
