Can a sprint samsung instinct be be flashed to metro pcs fully?

I'm using a sprint samsung instinct on the metro pcs system, but was told that i will not receive all of the multi-media services. As of today metro pcs has added a new phone called the samsung finesse, which is the same as the samsung instinct, can my phone be unlocked to receive all of the services provided by metro pcs?

If you flashed the phone yourself then I assume you have software on a pc or laptop such as CDMA workshop or QPST configuration. If you do and you have the phones USB drivers on your computer all you have to do is put your phone in diagnostic mode and run one of these programs to access service programming. There you can change the sprint data settings to metros. For instance user name would change from old#@sprintpcs.com to new#@mymetropcs.com. It sounds difficult but if you know the settings and have the software it is quite easy.
If you paid someone to flash it for you, they did a half a$$ job as they should have done it during initial flash. You can google metropcs data and mms settings to get correct info.

I would sell the instinct, and buy the samsung finesse. Since the instinct was generally built for sprint, you will not get all of the features out of it. Because it is not sprint! The features on the instinct, are for sprint only.

As long as you have a data plan there is no reason why you shouldnt have all the features available to you. i also have a sprint samsung instinct that i unlocked myself and every option works the same as it normally would. did you unlock this phone or did someone do it for you?

How do I flash a sprint Samsung galaxy s2 for metro use

I think what you mean is that you want o unlock it. This a CDMA phone, but there is also an S2 Sprint model which have a min-SIM card (the Samsung SPH-D710). But then again I'm not sure that it can be unlock. One way would be to contact Sprint, they will ask you for an ESN (located under the battery). To flash any firmware you need the firmware and Odin, this is a tool to flash firmware to Samsung devices. But that won't unlock your device.
I recommend that if possible, visit a Metro PCS store or Kiosk, maybe they can sell you a mini-SIM card and unlock it for you. Metro PCS use CDMA technology as Sprint and Verizon, but Metro PCS is now accepting GSM phones. Best of luck.

Flashed my sprint evo in florida to metro pcs and kept my old # it worked in fla. i got off the plane in ny two weeks later , the screen read analog b it no longer had service . it also was telling me to...

It is because in the Northeast Metro PCS uses a 10 MGHZ AWS frequency and your device does not have a AWS radio. If you return to a market were Metro uses a CDMA frequency, your service will return. That is why you were told to get a Metro phone because their devices have dual band radios. This is also why the metroflash service is not offered in the Northeast, as far as I am aware, the only other provider who uses AWS in the NY area is Cricket.

I have the lg rumor 260 from sprint and it is connected to metro but i dont have text or internet how can i get it

As long as you have Metro as carrier (instead of Sprint which is the carrier that the chip was originally designed for) you won't be able to fully use all the features in your phone. When you switch to a carrier like Metro PCS, they allow you to take the phone that you used with a previous carrier (most of the times, AT&T phones as for I know do not work), by doing what is called a "light flash". They delete certain programming from the phone but do not delete the main "BIOS" software due to legal issues. Companies like Sprint among others are not happy with this Metro PCS initiative, but Metro itself hasn't broken no rule yet.
In other words, what you are trying to do is feasable, there's people that can do it (not in regular cellphone stores) but even if you get it done, Metro won't accept the phone because then they can get in trouble for what I mentioned before. Hope my explanation helps, good luck.
