Need operators manual for craftsman #149.236160 23in. scroll saw

I need the blade holders and a manual

  • Anonymous Oct 24, 2017

I did some digging and found that the Sears Craftsman 23" scroll saw (model# 149.236160) was made by the now defunct American Machine & Tool Co., Inc. of Royersford, PA. (AMT model# 4671). Here's a link to a PDF of that manual.http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/29/2828...

Scroll saw owners manual I can't figure out how to change the blade

most scroll saws have pins on the ends of the blade
the end opposite to the motor is a spring so press down on that end and the blade should come out of the holder slots

How tight should the blade be on my 16'' craftsman scroll saw there's a knob from 1 to 5..

Each blade thickness requires a different amount of tension on the blade. Your owners manual will give recommendations on how tight each should be. If you dont have a manual look for the model number and you will be able to find the manual online

Sabre saw- craftsman - 17256 - change blades

This saw uses a tool-free blade change. 1. Unplug the jigsaw 2. Place your finger on the lower edge of the see through blade guard, and pull it forward until it locks up in place 3. Lift the tool-free blade change holder (bright yellow piece above the blade), and insert the blade into the slot of the tool-free blade change holder. 4. Release the tool-free blade change holder to lock the blade in place. 5. Pull down on the blade to verify that the blade is securely locked in place. The teeth of the blade should be pointing forward and down. 5. Put the blade guard back down.
You can use with both 'T' & 'U' shanked blades.

REPLACE BLADE IN MOD #172.171800 8.0 A, CRAFTSMAN, RECIIP SAW

If you see a set screw where the blade goes, loosen it a few turns. Then run the saw, it should spit out the broken blade. If it has a manual release for the blade, press the release while tapping the blade holder.
