Dishwasher will not go into wash cycle.

When dishwasher is started, it cycles through to empty any standing water, then refills with new water. Instead of going into the wash cycle, it starts making a chirping noise (sounds like a cricket or small frog) - appears to be coming from the bottom of the dishwasher. This unit is about 1&1/2 years old. Cannot find any debris/utensils blocking anything. There are 5 different modes of wash that can be selected. This problem occurs on all modes.

On the LG LDF6810 dishwasher, the best you can do is remove the bottom spray arm and then the 10 phillips screws that hold the filter down.
Pull the filter out and clean it as best you can.
Inspect the sump area beneath where the filter was. Be careful of broken glass and remove all debris. Use a flashlight and look into every little spot down there. Reassemble the dishwasher and operate your DW.
If you still have problems, I recommend a service call. Check your manual to confirm but most LG dishwashers have a 1 year parts & labor plus a 2 year parts only. Have your proof of purchase ready.

Cycle starts, but does not fill with water

When I start a new cycle, I first hear the pump run to empty out all remaining water, and after that I hear the motor run for the regular washing cycle, but there is no water in the dishwasher. After a few minutes, the cycle stops, and the washer claims the dishes are 'clean'. When I try starting a new cycle over and over again, about one in 20 times, the cycle will run normally with water. But then the next time, the problem starts all over again. Once a cycle starts correctly, everything works fine, including the rinsing.

I have a problem where my dishwasher starts its cycle, filling with water, then as it starts it immediately drains as the spray arms are moving. Since the water is draining the dishwasher then pauses to...

It sounds like your motor is stuck in the reverse position. It could also be in your timer. I would suggest calling a qualified technician for the one. Just because the parts are pricey and depending on how much a new dishwasher cost. Atleast get a diagnosis so you can know if its worth fixing or buying a new one. Dirty racks

What is the manufacturer and model number of the dishwasher?
Here is the process I would follow to remove the gunk.
Start a short cycle in the dishwasher, without adding detergent powder and after the (hot) water has filled the DW and the wash cycle has begun, open the DW door and add 1/4 cup of household bleach. When the water drains and begins to refill for the 2nd wash cycle, check the dishwasher to see if anything has gotten better and if not, add another 1/4 cup of bleach as soon as the hot water has refilled. Allow the DW to finish the full cycle.
Begin another short wash and as soon as the initial hot water fills and the wash cycle begins, open and add 2 cups (approximatly) of white vinegar. Allow the whole set of cycles to finish and check the insides.
If grease remains, I would use a de-greasing spray (avilable at all hardware stores and most food stores.) Spray on and use paper towels on all surfaces.
Because I do not know the make and model # for your dishwasher, I can not give you a part number for replacement racks.
Good Luck!

My bosch exxcel dishwasher will not drain after wash cycle

That is because the water level switch activated by the floating sensor is stuck.

You probably need to have the water level switch replaced.
