I can't get the lightbulb out of my dacor IVS2 range hood. I tried the suction cup and all it did was pull off the lens and I tried taking the filter screen out and reaching behind to turn the bulb. It is hard to get my fingers back there and they won't turn out - they are probably stuck from all of the grease over the years. Any suggestions. I can't get the bulb retainer springs loose because the area is too tight to loosen them.

SOURCE: What if you don't have the suction cup/light

not certain about the afore mentioned resolution...but here is how i did it...i buy work gloves with a latex rubber coating...i put a pair of these on and was able to get a good grip with my fingers to spin the light out of the socket....the cover lens popped off....but that was ok...i got a better grip on the inside of the light...came right out. i will certainly be applying some wd40 to the next bulb i put in....

How do you get the light bulb out of the hood?

there is a tool (suction cup) that dacor provides with unit or you can order the "kit" online for $30. i used some gloves with latex coating on palms to get "decent grip" to spin it out. that stainless stell rim actually pops out on my ventilation hood....it is similar to recessed lighting baffles...spring loaded....it may give you a bit more room to manuever your fingers.

To replace the light bulb:
1. Remove the right filter and turn off the main power
switch.
2. Gently push the suction cup on the light replacement
tool A (provided with you range hood)
onto the lens of the light bulb B .
3. Turn the tool counter-clockwise until the bulb
comes loose.
4. Remove the tool from the bulb and put it on the
lens of the replacement bulb.
5. Screw the new bulb into the light fixture clockwise
until it is tight. Turn on power at the fuse or junction
box. Turn on the main power switch and touch

Problems changing a light bulb :)

You need the suction bulb that came with the unit.  In case you do not have it, it is part #62408 and is about $2.00.  I am trying to figure out for myself how to get the lens cover off in order to access the bulb, and how to replace it when the new bulb is put in.

Lightbulb Dacor Hood

simply remove filter screen from hood (might as well clean it while it is out), reach your hand through the opening, grasp the light bulb and turn clockwise to remove.

had same problem myself and this is what i did.

Dacor IVS1 Vent Hood - How to change a light bulb?

Buylighting.com, JDR120V-75W-E27CG...also comes in 50 watt. They aren't inexpensive, but if installed properly, will last a while. We have a little suction cup to take them out and put them in. It came with the range hood. If you get fingerprints on a halogen bulb, it can blow out quicker.

How do you change a halogen bulb in my dacor range hood

Believe it or not - they just unscrew like regular light bulbs. There is supposed to be a suction cup that came with the hood to replace the bulb - we lost ours. I was able to remove it by using a little bit of pressure on the face of the bulb and twisting it back and forth. The other bulb was stuck, so I made a "handle" using duct tape on the face of the bulb.
