Installing a vessel sink

Standard Vanity height is approx 34.5". A vessel vanity is approx 31" high. If you cannot remove the legs from your existing vanity then it will have to be replaced or cut down to the correct height. The reason a vessel vanity is lower is because your sink will be approx 3 to 6 inches higher than a standard drop in sink. This may be more work than it is worth. Vessel sinks most often will require a solid surface top, either glass, stone or another type of composite material. The standard laminate vanity top has a particle board substrate which will detiorate quickly at the drain location.

Some water sits in the bottom and does not drain completely. Don't know if the drain inside the sink was not properly installed or if the sink is designed that way.

this is not supposed to happen, either drain not installed properly or drain is clogged. suggest trying drain cleaner first if sink has been in for a period of time. if sink is recently installed call whoever installed and have them fix the drain

The sink leaks at the bottom of glass sink where it connects to the piping

THE PART YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT IS CALLED DRAIN TAIL PIECE. THE DRAIN YOU CAN REMOVE BY LOSENING THE NUT UNDER THE SINK WHILE SOME ONE HOLDS THE DRAIN INSIDE THE SINK FROM TURNING THE OART KEAKING IS CALLED A SPUD GASKET WHICH SEALS THE DRAIN TO THE SINK

Vessel sink drain causes poolin of water.

YOU ALSO HAVE A VENT ISSUE, THE VESSEL SINK DOESN'T HAVE THE LITTLE HOLE IN IT LIKE A VANITY SINK, THERE FOR THE WATER IS GOING DOWN THE DRAIN BUT THE AIR CAN NOT COME OUT, YOU NEED TO INSTALL A STUDOR VENT OR AN INLINE VENT INTO THE DRAIN BETWEEN THE WALL AND THE TRAP CUT IN A TEE AND BRING A PIPE UP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE COUNTER TOP AND INSTALL THE VENT, USALLY HAVE TO PUT A FEMALE ADPT ON THE TOP OF THE PIPE THE VENT COMES WITH THREADS DO NOT GLUE IT IN PLACE, THEY HAVE A RUBBER FLAPPER THAT OPENS WHEN THE WATER IS GOING THRU THE DRAIN AND ALLOWS IT TO PULL IN AIR THEN THE FLAP CLOSES WHEN NO WATER IS RUNNING TO KEEP THE SEWER SMELL OUT
