My kitchen aid dish washer model KUDI01ILWH6 stopped working . the only light that comes on is the light for hi temp dcrub.please advise

Model number? The model number is inside the door normally. Any lights on or it, or old dial type with no front lights?

I suggest replacing it.

Check your water inlet for the right pressure and then the water float valve for the right amount of water in the tub for washing. The tub has to have the right amount of water in it to pump it up to the top. It is also possible that the pump has debris in it that is restricting the flow. Clean out the screens and check the bottom of the washer tub for debris at the pump inlet. Use white vinegar to clean out your washer. Start your washer - open the door and pour in a lot of vinegar. Let it run for a few seconds and stop it. Let the vinegar work on the scale and debris. Start and stop it several times during the day - not completing the wash cycle until in the morning - after it has sat with the vinegar 10 -12 hours.

I have had this problem. Mine didn't work for over a week and by the time the repair man came over to 'replace the board' it suddenly worked. The guy told me that if you use ANY type of liquid dishwashing soap (for your sink) and any residue/bubble is on the dishes, it can cause your dishwasher to break. I have no idea why but I've been really careful to make sure I wasn't using dish soap prior to putting them in the washer.

I've had 3 service calls on this dishwasher since I purchased it 3 years ago. I'm having similar service issues with my Kitchen Aid Fridge. And of course no help from Kitchen Aid.

The electronic control looks for a temp. rise of 2-4 degrees. If no temp.rise control assumes a heater fault and blinks clean light 7 times. Bad heater. Water fill when completed can be no less than 1/2 inch below heater. If so, water valve probably. Circulation motor not working properly. Neutral door switch. Tech sheet is behind bottom cover. Check underneath of unit for leaking or white hard water deposits. Common for seals to leak. If unit is unusually noisy, motor problem. Common after 4-5 years. Hi.

Using too much rinse aid will not work. Stick to user manual factory prescriptions. If you use correct amount of rinse aid, and the right product for your dishwasher, that is not the cause of the stains.

Ensure that you are using the right detergent along with rinse aid. Check specifications on manual.

Ensure that the drain well is clean.

Ensure that spray arms have enough pressure, check water level and impeller pump.

If you still get stains on dishes, and you are sure that they had been caused by limescale, that means that the water in your house is too hard. This will also damage your appliances in the long term, causing faults due to accumulation of limescale and rust.

The best thing to do is installing a water filtration system on the appliance inlet.Call your local appliance shop or technician to discuss about the problem and purchase a filtration system for your appliance.

do you have any error messages on the display?

if yes, please advise the exact error message.

if not, please check the drain pump for any thing stuck in it.
