Replaced icemaker with new one but still not working

10yr old Kenmore side by side(not 57029) with icemaker. I bought a new icemaker from sears parts and installed it but it has not started making ice. No water flow and the water dispenser works fine. Otherwise the frig is good as new and everything is working as usual.

The ice maker has a problem The ice maker is a separate appliance within the freezer section. Please see the How things Work section of our website to learn about the normal functioning of ice makers. Some common problems with ice makers are:

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice
The ice maker is producing ice poorly
The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs

Icemaker still works but water dispenser doesn't

There's a manifold valve assembly on the back lower side behind the access panel. Replace the manifold, and you should be good.

Kenmore side by side model #515541 01--replaced water filter -water dispenser works great but no water coming into ice maker - what could be problem? we purchased this used-is there something we have to do...

I had the same problem. Sometimes the tray overfills and freezes in the little line that fills the ice cube tray.

I solved the problem by taking an ice pick and clearing the ice from the end of that little waterline until the water started flowing again.

I have a kenmore side by side refrigerator freezer. It's about 15 years old. Recently the freezer has started making a loud humming noise. HELP

Good day,
The most common reason for noise is the fan motor in the freezer compartment.
Remove the screws from the rear panel in the freezer compartment and inspect the fan motor. Replacing it is a fairly easy nuts and bolts procedure. The motor should be available at most appliance parts houses.
kenmore is a trade name for Sears appliances. It was made by either Whirlpool or Frigidaire.

How to take out old ice actuator on Kenmore fridge

The easiest thing to do is remove the icemaker first. Ujnplug your fridge first, though. Take a 1/4" nut driver and remove the screw at the botton of the icemaker. Then loosen the 2 screws on the topside of the ice maker. You'll be able to see the back screw, but the front one is kinda hidden....you'll have to use your fingers for eyes on that one! Lift up on the icemaker and it should come free from the screws. Disconnect the electrical plug, being sure to release the little latch on the side of the molex plug.

Now you can work on the icemaker....there is a white plastic cover over the end of the icemaker, pull that off and you can start to see the guts of the icemaker. There are 3 phillips head screws holding the motor module on, and the rest of it can be torn down from there. Good luck!

No water to icemaker. Water in door works well.

the water that enters the ice maker is controled by a thing called a solenoid valve (electricaly operated) the" water in door system" is a manual operated valve.. typicaly when the ejector rolls around to put the ice in the tray the solenoid opens lets water in then closes could be solenoid / wireing or controler
good luck

Kenmore icemaker

It sounds like the icemaker is making hollow cubes , and the unfrozen water in the cubes , after dumping , freezes and causes the ice shells to stick togather . This is a sign of " not enough water going into the icemaker " . Replace the water inlet valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to , on the refrig .

We just inherited what looks like a 57029. We

No, but it is easy to disconnect icemaker. Unplug behind icemaker (remove or loosen screws to see plug. Put tape over jack in freezer to keep moisture out. Put icemake back when ready to connect water.
