It might be a good idea for you to call an appliance service who specializes in repairing appliances like these. That way you don't have to worry if you are doing it correctly or not. If it were me then I would not want to take the chance of making a mistake and ruining the appliance. http://www.appliancerepairspokane.com

Make sure you have returned all wiring back to correct positions and that the drive belt has been refitted correctly.

My maytag dryer gets way to hot. you cant even get your near heating element. you can even see it glowing. what could cause that.

Were you running the dryer without the lint screen in place? sound like you got something on heating element. Also the heating element does glow orange when it's on. If it keeps on getting too hot, there is a sensor that shuts off element after a certain temp. This may not be working right. Just what I came across working on my own in the past.

Polohunt1@aol.com my bionaire bch9221 120 volt heater does not produce heat anymore.....i'm thinking that maybe an element within the unit is burned out.

Mine was doing the same thing. Took it apart and found that the white wire which hooked up from the circuit board to the heating element had burnt which broke the connection...hence no heat....replaced burnt wire and resoldered to heating element...put it back together and voila I have heat once more....still doesn't solve why the wire fried though....

I just recently took apart my GE Dryer, model number DJSR473ET1WW to fix a loud noise. I put it back together and now I realize that the back of my dryer is extremely hot. Is there something I may have...

Sounds like you hava a venting problem. Disconnect the vent on the back and see if it still gets hot.

If it gets hot when the dryer is not on, then the heating element coil is shorting out on the element pan.

Hope that all helps.

HAVE DEHYDRATOR THAT DOES NOT HEAT ANYMORE

Take apart the bottom unit that contains the heating element. Hopefully it's put together with phillips screws. Mine are not. I'd have to drill out the brads that are holding it together. Once it's apart, use an Ohmmeter to check the heating element. Be sure to disconnect the fan from the heating element when ohmming out the element. If the element is open electrically, replace it. Good luck in finding a place to purchase a new element.
