F8 Displayed I have a Frigidaire Double oven (Mod. PLEB27T8ACA). I accidentally pushed the clean button, then cancel. I then pushed the bake button and set the temperature. A minute or two later, it started beeping and displayed F8. We cancelled both ovens, then it displayed F1. We flipped the breaker, hoping it would reset, but about 2 minutes after we turn it on it goes back to beeping and displaying F8. Any ideas?

    Oven door lock failure

Check lock relay and door switches.

  • Anonymous Apr 02, 2009

OK, there are two issues here. the oven door lock relay has failed then, shortly after that failure, the oven control board failed as well. this is a combination failure that incorporates two devices that will need to be replaced or repaired in order to restore this unit to optimal performance.

    please rate and god bless.

When checking the F8, there may just be a malfunctioning switch that isn't communicating with the relay. you can test the switches with a multimeter for continuity.

Accidentally hit clean button on a Frigidaire Gallery Oven. Hit Cancel button. Oven door won't open.

I appreciate your post, C Maury!
From my understanding your hit the clean button on your Frigidaire wall oven and now the door will not open. I would hold down the cancel button for at least ten seconds, this should unlock the door. If that does not help I would recommend disconnecting power from your wall oven by flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. I hope this information was helpful to some degree. -Matt

Accidentally hit the oven clean button while baking

Hello there.
From the manual I got

To Stop Self-Clean any time:
Press UPPER OFF, LOWER OFF or OFF/CANCEL. If the oven
temperature is too high, the door will remain locked. It will not
unlock until the oven cools

Hope it helps/

F8 error and bottom door locked

Here is Frigidaire's suggestion to your problem:

Oven Control Beeps

and Displays an "F"

Error Code

Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Push CANCEL pad to clear the display

and stop the display from beeping. Reprogram the oven. If a fault reoccurs, record the fault
number, push the CANCEL pad and contact an authorized servicer.

How do you operate oven

You should have a bake and broil button and arrows to adjust temp up and down. Of course a start button should be there. If no off button, then there should be a cancel button to turn it off. The door only locks in self clean mode.

Are you getting any codes? Sounds like one of your touchpad buttons is stuck. CAUTION: Turn power off to oven at circuit breaker.  I would take the control panel off disconnect the ribbon from the touchpad and take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts. Reconnect ribbon connector back together. If this does not help write back..

I have Fridigaire double oven part# PLEB27T8ACA with F8 code prob

wow, that is so weird...i was just getting ready to write the exact same thing. this last time mine beeped, i just kept letting it beep for several minutes. if kept on. i then went in and pressed all the buttons except for cancel and nothing happened. then i pressed the oven light button. the beeping stopped. not sure if it's coincidence or if that was what i was supposed to press. i will keep messing with the buttons and let you know if i figure it out. i will dread if it beeps all night long.
