Can't find a channel to watch a DVD pre-recorded DVD

This model has only one tuner, I'm afraid. You can only watch one channel at a time, unless you split the cable signal going into it. One side goes to the recorder, the other to the TV. Then you use the single tuner in the recorder to record and the TV's tuner to watch the other channel.

Cable goes to vcr cable INPUT, then run cables from vcr OUPUT to tv INPUT or AV.

Then put tv on input or av channel or channel 4 and use put the vcr on the channel you want to record.

With the assumption that this is a DVD recorder not just a player, and all connections are correct, two things need to be in place.
1. Source: the unit needs to have a cable tuner so you can receive a channel to record or an external input (look like stereo plugs) for video in and audio in so you can use a cable box for tuning a channel
2: Format: these units will need a DVD -R or DVD +R format blank to use. Some units can use both.

If this unit is a combo (DVDR and VCR in one box) then the source should be available to both for recording and selecting the appropriate channel should work. (Note if using the cable box then the recorder channel probably should be on 3 and set your cable box to the channel you want to record

The DVD-VR375 does not have an HDMI input. The connection should be:
• RED WHITE & YELLOW CABLE from your cable box (AV OUT) should connect to the DVD-VR375 (AV IN 1). Set the DVD-VR375 to AV 1 using the INPUT SEL. button.
• Next, connect an HDMI cable from the DVD-VR375 (HDMI OUT) to the TV (HDMI IN). Set the TV to the proper source.
This connection would allow the recorder to work as a pass through and will let you record TV programs as well as watch your cable channels.

RUN ANT,CABLE INTO DVD RECORDER THEN RUN A CABLE IN TO THE TV FROM THE OUTPUT OF THE DVD RECORDER YOU MUST HAVE TV ON CHANNEL THREE TO WATCH AND RECORD AT SAME TIME ,SET CHANNEL TO 3 ON DVD RECORDER OR INPUT SELECT CHANNEL YOU WANT TO RECORD AND PUSH RECORD WHEN READY

Take a red, white, and yellow AV cable and plug it from the AV out of the cable box to the red, white, and yellow In of the dvd recorder (change cable box to the channel you want to record). Then change your TV to the channel you want to view.

Make sure the DVD has RF lead and Scart lead connected in and also BOTH connected out to the TV. When you record from TV use channel numbers, when you record from cable use AV channel, (on DVD). When watching TV use TV channels 1 to 5, when watching Cable use AV channel, (on TV).

OK I will try to explain this...You need to go from your OUT TO TV output on your cable box and split that line so you have 2 lines coming out,then you can hook one to your vcr and one directly to your tv.Then you can watch tv while you are recording something on your VCR.I hope this helps
