The inside fan has to run all the time. It turns off it will not keep things cold. Not the fan outside in the air it shoulc cycle with the compressor.

The switch is probably for florescent lights or a door frame heater.

  • Anonymous Apr 05, 2009

Why do you think its for a fan? Does it say fan on it?

  • Anonymous Apr 09, 2009

JUST a stab at why it says fan.

1 If it really turns the fans off it is probably for loadign in new product to keep from blowing out the cold air.
2 If it does not thurn off the fan someone put that on and it may be up-side-down it may have nothing on the other side.
3 Door Door Frame, or glass heaters (to keep it from sweating or moisture from forming on the glass door frame or door(s)
In costal areas the humidity is higher and it may have an option for this.

If it isnt one of these 3 Im not sure what you have??

Bev Aire 17??? I can try a phone call if I can remember to do it.

The switch is for condensation, for when it's humid, and that is per the Bev Aire web site.

I have a MT 12. That switch does start up the fan next to the compressor if the compressor is off. However, I am unsure if it is a defrost switch. If the switch is off and the compressor is on, the fan runs too.

It could be a defrost switch, however, this would pretty silly to make such so accessible.

Beverage Air cooler

I am assuming that you are talking about he compressor having an issue starting. The switch is probably a anti-sweat heater. Turning it off, helps prevent a voltage drop which will cause a compressor starting issue. I believe your circuit is just too close to maximum. Your issue is usually caused by an undersized wired circuit to handle the starting amps needed to get it running. If you could put it on a dedicated, 20 amp circuit, your issue may just go away. Check it out.

Will not cool. Fan runs, have cleaned coil.

The compressor may not be starting. Put your forehead against the nmachine when youturn it on or plug it in, You will feel the vibration of the pump. If it is not coming on, you may need a technician to what determine why it is not working.

I have a beverage air kegerator that seems to work fine, but the evaporator fan runs constantly. Is it supposed to run constantly, or is it supposed to cycle on and off with the compressor, etc.?

Most evaporator fans run all the time. This is mainly to use the air flow to assist in melting off any frost build up during the compressor off cycle. If that fan shut off with the compressor the coil will have a tendency to freeze up. :)

See if you can get to their web site. In the operations section, under initial start up, it talks about this. Can't find anything else on this.
Good Luck-Hope this helps.

Fan in cooling compartment

The fan inside the unit should run all the time, this insures a more constant temp throughout the compartment by keeping the air moving.
