I turned my Yamaha clavinova CVP 96 on today and instead of the white screen I have a lot of blue vertical lines and no sound coming

Hi

the blue screen with lines is normally as a result of the ribbon cable which has contacts on failing.

The remedy is normally to replace the simple the screen assembly the parts for this are around £300 but there would be significant labour to add to this.

i would suggest talking to a local Yamaha technician

Does the base detach from the Yamaha CVP-601 for transportation

The Yamaha CVP-601 can be transported fully assembled. However, yes, it can be disassembled if desired.

Your owners/operators manual will detail the procedure.

I have hiss on my clavinova cvp 301 what can i do to eliminate that?

The source of the noise could be many things. At real high volume levels with no notes being played, some hiss is common due to the statistical properties in electronics. At a normal listening level the hiss should be inaudible. If there is a failure there is little you would be able to do yourself to repair it. One MIGHT use circuit cooler to isolate a bad component, but it is unlikely you would have the tools to replace it as most everything is surface mounted. If you have a treble control, turn that down to reduce the level as the hiss is always up in the higher registers.

Yamaha dtxpress humming low sound in headphones and amp.

Likely a filter capacitor in power supply is failing if it has started doing this. SOMETIMES devices have a very small amount of hum normally. Also sometimes unbalanced instrument cables can pick up hum.

Can I replace the pedal unit to the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-75?

I can't solve the problem, but just wanted to sympathize because I have the same problem. My pedal is broken on my Yamaha Clavinova cvp85a. It worked wonderfully for years but finally it broke.
I'd be in the market for buying a new pedal or fixing the old one. But I've not found any suggestions in any of these forums for either solution.
