Have a Miele G1220SC dishwasher. It recently developed a strange problem: when switching it on ALL program lights come on and the machine starts taking water. after a while it stops taking water and starts to pump water, all the time all program indicators remain on. if you leave it on a while ( about 4 or 5 minutes) it is impossible to switch off the machine with the main switch, all you can do to stop it is unplug it. anyone experienced something like this and have any idea what part is malfunctioning?

Follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Heating Element

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element might have burned out. The heating element heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Heating Element Assembly

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element assembly might have burned out. The heating element assembly heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element assembly can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Check Fault Codes

If the display lights are flashing and there is an error code in the display window, check the wiring diagram and tech sheet in the dishwasher that will provide information on the fault.

Drain Pump

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the drain pump might not be working properly. For two-wire drain pump motors check them for continuity using an Ohm meter. If it's defective You'll need to replace it. Drain pumps are not repairable.

Touchpad and Control Panel

If the lights are flashing on the display the entire touchpad and control panel assembly might be defective. If the display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some of the buttons don't respond properly the entire touchpad and control panel might need to be replaced.

Touchpad

If the display lights are flickering for no reason, the touchpad might need to be replaced. Sometimes when the touchpad is defective the display lights are flashing randomly.

Testimonial: "Thanks for all the info. However, the lights on the touchpad are not flickering. As soon as the machine is switched on the program lights come on and stay on, the other lights do not come on. The machine can be switched-off with the main switch if you do so shortly after switching on, if you wait a little longer it is impossible to switch-off with the main switch, you have to unplug it. Each time i try the machine behaves identically: program lights come on, machine takes in water and shortly after starts to pump water, it continues this cycle of taking and pumping water until unplugged."

I found the solution by phoning Miele. You just have to reset as follows: switch on with program 2 and 3 pushed in. Then push top solo twice. Switch off and on again. The Miele is ready to go.

try unblocking the inlet hose under the machine.. My machine was overflowing inlet water into the tray under the machine setting off the above mentioned aquastopper switch. I removed side pannel, then one end of the inlet hose under the machine and dragged a wire with cloth tied to end through, removing a serious amount of built up scum. no more overflowing!!

Hi. The above machine stops mid cycle and drain/fill light is on, also error code F3E, have cleaned both hot and cold water inlet filters, also checked drain pump and drain line, all ok. Machine drains with no issues and fills with hot water, runs for a while then shuts down.
Any ideas?

Intake/drain light on

Please check the INLET water pressure, remove the inlet and check. Now if there is pressure make sure that when the power is pressed there is a pre wash cycle to start the machine. If not there is fault in the program controller , please check the door switch and the panel board.

I am trying to remove the kick plate of my Miele G1220sc dishwasher to test the float switch.

There are two screws that hold the plate in. Because they are recessed, you may not think they are the right screws. Look at this video for a step by step.

My Milee dishwasher indicated that I should add salt to the salt reservoire. I did this and then started to run a quick wash. However, the machine started to make a strange grinding noise. I turned it...

Hi
If noise occurs within first minute of starting program, then the is most likely something in the drain pump. Remove filter, On left of sump you will see a non return valve with a metal clip keeping it in place push clip ti centre of sump. remove non return valve and rotate impeller. Start a program, after 60 sec stop program, (debris will have been thrown out of pump.) re-assemble and test. More in depth instructions are in user manual under problem solving

I have a G1220SC model. F11 shows on the panel,

F11 is a drain error.

Water outlet restricted.

** Check for kink in the drain hose.

** Clean the filter combination. (p.41)

** Clean the non-return valve (check valve) (p. 53)

** Check/clean the drain
Unplug the machine.
Disconnectthe drain where it enters the S bend from the sink. You may find thenozzle into the S bend is blocked. Probe it with a screwdriver andclear the blockage.
Plug in2_bing.gif the machine and re-try.

THIS MANUAL
may not be for your model - however it will give instructions on some of the steps above.

If all checks out - the pump will need replacement.

F70 fault error keeps appearing on my Miele G1220SC full dishwasher - any idea?

Hi,

it is the float switch in the base of the unit, which registers a water leak. you are probably using too much detergent and it is overflowing into the base.

Dishwasher not working

Hi Frazzledmum, Miele have a safety float switch in the bottom of the machine. (The float is a polystyrene disc). If the machine leaks for any reason, then the water sits in the bottom tray raises the float switch & all your dishwasher will do is activate the drain pump and flash those red lights at you. The reason is that somewhere under the machine there is a leak that needs to be investigated & repaired so in this instance I'm affraid that you will have to call a serviceman. Kind regards
