Heating Element
If lights are flashing on the control panel,
the heating element might have burned out. The heating element heats the
water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the
temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start
flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm
meter.
Heating Element Assembly
If lights are flashing on the control panel,
the heating element assembly might have burned out. The heating element
assembly heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount
of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel
might start flashing. The heating element assembly can be checked for
continuity with an Ohm meter.

Check Fault Codes
If the display lights are flashing and there
is an error code in the display window, check the wiring diagram and
tech sheet in the dishwasher that will provide information on the fault.
Drain Pump
If lights are flashing on the control panel,
the drain pump might not be working properly. For two-wire drain pump
motors check them for continuity using an Ohm meter. If it's defective
You'll need to replace it. Drain pumps are not repairable.

Touchpad and Control Panel
If the lights are flashing on the display the
entire touchpad and control panel assembly might be defective. If the
display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some
of the buttons don't respond properly the entire touchpad and control
panel might need to be replaced.

Touchpad
If the display lights are flickering for no
reason, the touchpad might need to be replaced. Sometimes when the
touchpad is defective the display lights are flashing randomly.
Testimonial: "Thanks for all the info. However, the lights on the touchpad are not flickering. As soon as the machine is switched on the program lights come on and stay on, the other lights do not come on. The machine can be switched-off with the main switch if you do so shortly after switching on, if you wait a little longer it is impossible to switch-off with the main switch, you have to unplug it. Each time i try the machine behaves identically: program lights come on, machine takes in water and shortly after starts to pump water, it continues this cycle of taking and pumping water until unplugged."

I found the solution by phoning Miele. You just have to reset as follows: switch on with program 2 and 3 pushed in. Then push top solo twice. Switch off and on again. The Miele is ready to go.

try unblocking the inlet hose under the machine.. My machine was overflowing inlet water into the tray under the machine setting off the above mentioned aquastopper switch. I removed side pannel, then one end of the inlet hose under the machine and dragged a wire with cloth tied to end through, removing a serious amount of built up scum. no more overflowing!!

Hi. The above machine stops mid cycle and drain/fill light is on, also
error code F3E, have cleaned both hot and cold water inlet filters, also
checked drain pump and drain line, all ok. Machine drains with no
issues and fills with hot water, runs for a while then shuts down.
Any ideas?
