Test this steps and fix it, use the VOM. God bless you

  1. Defrost control boardIf the defrost function is not working on your refrigerator it could be an issue with the defrost control board. This control board oversees several internal conditions and regulates the activation of the defrost cycle. A faulty board can be the primary reason your refrigeration unit is not transitioning to the defrost cycle. Over time, the buildup of ice on the evaporator coil will prevent the refrigerator and freezer from maintaining proper internal temperature. It is advisable to first check the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat for continuity prior to replacing the defrost control board.
  2. Main control boardA possible cause for a refrigerator not defrosting, especially on more modern units, is the main control board. The main control board acts as a "brain" for the unit controlling the defrost cycle, compressor, and run time, and essentially acts in place of the defrost timer. The control board can be tested using an ohm meter for functionality and will need to be replaced if bad.
  3. Defrost timerIf the refrigerator is not defrosting the timer could be malfunctioning. Numerous times throughout the day the defrost timer should cycle the defrost heater on as a means to melt frost buildup on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If this timer does not cycle on, then it may be faulty and require replacement.
  4. Defrost heater assemblyIf your refrigerator is not defrosting accurately this could be an indication that your defrost heater assembly has failed. This could cause the frost to accrue on the evaporator coils, eventually blocking the airflow resulting in the unit not cooling properly. The defrost heater assembly can be monitored for continuity using an ohm meter and will need to replaced if there is none present.
  5. Defrost thermostatAnother cause of your refrigerator not defrosting is a faulty defrost thermostat. A requirement for the defrost heater to activate to melt away frost on the evaporator coils is a functional defrost thermostat. The defrost thermostat senses the temperature of the evaporator coils and initiates the thawing process by activating the defrost heater. If the thermostat is faulty, it will not sense the lowering temperature of the coils and will not turn on the heater, resulting in an advanced frost build-up. The defrost thermostat can be checked for continuity by using an ohm meter; if there is no continuity the damaged part will need to be replaced.
  6. Defrost sensor with fuseAnother possible cause of a refrigerator that does not defrost properly is a defrost sensor with a fuse. If the defrost sensor fails, the fuse acts as a one-time-only fail safe for the sensor -- if the sensor does not shut off the defrost heater, the fuse will blow when the set temperature is reached. This safety precaution is to keep excessive harm from your unit by the heater and is a one-time use, resulting in the replacement of the entire defrost sensor.

SOURCE: maytag fridge model # MFF2557HEB

This has to be the evap. fan motor. I have ran into this alot. If you take the vent off the topcenter of the freezer back panel useing a simple flat head unlock the clips. Once you see the fan blades push it with your finger carefully if it spins slow and little wobblely the motor has failed. If it turns not at all then check for 120V. going into the motor by unhooking it if you get 120V motor bad if you get nothing then the Jazzboard or Highvoltage control board has failed. To install a new fanmotor is easy take your time most parts come out with a flathead screw driver and 1/4inchnutdriver. Evap. fan motor is just clipped in.

SOURCE: Beko frost free fridge freezer,

sounds similar to mine. Find the source of the bubbling noise (defrost timer at the bottom), remove the cap and advance the timer with a screwdriver. If you fridge starts working, your defrost timer is faulty.

SOURCE: fitting an integrated fridge freezer!

Hi Gareth. I fitted a door to my Hotpoint hsz2321L today. I used self tapping screws through the brackets into the fridge door sides. Looking at the old fridge that came out showed that this was the method used previously. No seal is broken and so the fridge is working perfectly. I do have an issue re-fitting the door onto the new fridge though. The pivot hinge on my fridge doesnt give enough clearance and so it catches on the unit at the side of it. The old fridge (a Bosch) cad cabinet hinges that would sort of concertina out to give clearence. Anyway, good luck.

Zanussi fridge freezer not working.

You will need a service call for diagnosis and repair. It could be a faulty thermistor (electronic temperature sensor), or it is low on refrigerant gas and needs a top up. Gas is the most likely reason. Make sure the freezer isn't on an Eco Mode that only deep chills the bottom, and useful if the freezer is nearly empty.

Fridge freezer gurgle noise problem. Freezer window flashes replace filter . New filter installed. Noise continues emanating from freezer. Help please

The problem is AIR In The Line. Either you have a leak in the water line or the filter was not tight. In some cases, people screw the filter in wrong, and cross-tread when screwing the filter back into the fridge. If the filter gasket failed to make a tight seal, air can enter and cause a noise. If the water l;ine has a small pin hole, when water is flowing within the tube, it too can make a noise. That can happen when drawing water down for drinking or when the ICE Maker is reloading the tray.

Neff fridge/freezer has stopped cooling

pull the unit from the wall, remove the bottom back panel , see if the small fan is working ,if the fan is , there's probally alot of dust back there, unplug the fridg. and vacuum the area real good, use a flash light to make sure you get it all, if the fan is not working and the compressor is running the fan is the problem ,the fan keeps the compressor and coils cool so the freon can cool down so the unit works like it should,if the freon is hot ,the air the fridg.will be blowing will be hot. this should fix your problem, and YES its worth fixing.alittle p.m.saves alot of $$$$$$$$$

Fridge side is not cooling, freezer side is fine

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
