How to use telescope at night?

Bought Edu-Science Land and Sky Telescope 90X Power for my 8 years' old son. Can see clearly through the telescope during day. But cannot see anything at night, even though there are stars in the sky. Please advise on how to use the telescope at night.

Many people have the same problem-- with these small telescopes you are stuck with seeing only the moon, and several other planets, and maybe a few bright star clusters.

These are all TINY objects (except for the moon).... when you look through the telescope you are looking at a section of sky about the size of your fingertip held at arms length-- the scope must be pointed DIRECTLY at the object. Practice on the moon first-- and then try to find Saturn which is up in the sky right now-- it looks like a dim (slightly yellow) star.

Where can I find an instruction manual for edu science land and sky 360 (50mm refractor) telecope?

Check the manufacture. If you didn't have it too long take it back to T...R...US and go elsewhere and by a good scope.

I took apart my edu science Land and Sky 90X telescope and didn't realize there were two lens at the large end until they slipped apart in my hands (one thicker than the other) and got mixed up. There was...

You will need to experiment replacing the lens in various configurations to see what works.

Next time NEVER disassemble an eyepiece or a telescope lens. Only the outside surfaces ever need cleaning.

My son has an edu science telescope, bought from toy's R us, he seems to have lost the instructions and broken the tripod, much to my annoyance a the sky is clear tonight! Any way i was wondering where i...

Any photo tripod would work if you can attach the tube. Toys R us do not provide any instruction manual, and they do not sell parts.

We receive the most complaints on this brand. It is really a TOY telescope. Sorry.

We bought my son EDU SCIENCE Telescope model # lcm60 We would like to find stronger eye pieces for my son.

Your scope is 60mm not much bigger than a pair of 10x50mm binoculars the most magnification it will give is about 100 power or less.

Eyepieces come in 3 sizes, .965 inch, 1.25 inch, and 2 inch. Measure the hole in the focuser and buy the correct size. Here are two retailers:

I have just bought an Astrolon telescope 288 power. I've assembled it following the instructions and I can't see anything. Inside the house I can pick few images but they appear upside down rather than...

All astronomical telescopes show upside down images --- it's normal.

Stars are always points of light no matter what telescope you own. Download this star chart:

Objects in the sky are tiny, smaller than the tip of your finger held at arm's length, try for the moon FIRST which is large. Then try Jupiter which is that very bright "star" to the Southeast after dark.

Where can i get the instructions for the 240 power 60mm refractor telescope?

You cannot get a manual for that small telescope being sold by Toys R Us.

The manual would only have assembly instructions it will NOT tell you how to use the scope to see objects in the night sky.

Edu science reflector telescope instructions 600x

This is a small refractor telescope-- they pretty much all work the same-- BUT don't expect to get more than 100 power out of the scope. Yes I know the box said 600 power but it's a lie. In my 8 inch telescope I rarely get above 250 power and my scope is many times larger than the one you have--

Now put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope-- the LARGER the number the LOWER the magnification. During the day time practice focusing on a distant object --- AND line-up the small finder scope on top with the main telescope tube. Look at the top of a distant light or church steple, or telephone pole. Without moving the telescope adjust the small finder scope by loosening and tightening the screws around the tube holding the finder scope-- put the crosshairs on the same spot as the main telescope.

Now you can use the small finder to locate objects in the sky-- the moon should be your first night time target.
