Jenn Air oven Model: jgs9900bds16 "warming drawer" lights up

I have a Jenn Air Down draft slide oven Model # JGS9900BDS16. All of a sudden the "Warming drawer" light has turned on whenever I turn the fan on. I called Jenn Air and they had no direction on what the problem could be. Since the oven does NOT have a warming drawer I assume this is some sort of code for an error. I tried turning off the power for 1 min, and leaving the oven alone for another 5 with no success. The fan is blowing in the correct direction (I had been using the oven for more than 1 year). Any ideas?

This same issue just started with our 3-year old Jenn-Air Slide-In Range. No mention in the Use & Care Guide. Any ideas?

If it is not affecting the performance of the machine, disregard it.

SOURCE: Oven cuts out after about 15 minutes

most common fault is the cooling fan is failing to come on, whreas the fan will be okay ( check windings with ohmn meter ) it will normally have a ceramic 10k resitor in series with the live which goes open circiut

SOURCE: Oven light won't turn off

It sounds to me like the switch that operates the light is malfunctioning. You're taking the right steps by pressing the switch by hand. Since that didn't work, either that switch is not working or there is another switch that is intended to keep the light on while the door is closed. You can look at that one too. The last thing to consider is if the light is relay controlled, the relay might be stuck closed and applying power to the light all the time.

SOURCE: Jenn Air Range SVD48600W (Circa 1998?)

ja_question.gif Why are the oven indicator lights flashing? Answer: When power is first supplied to the appliance, a flashing time will appear on the display.
If a flashing time appears at any other time, a power failure has occurred. Press Cancel, and reset the clock if needed.
When the oven is not in use, the display shows the time of day.
If the indicator lights keep flashing after you have tried to reset the controls, then you may need to contact service person.

This is from the Jenn-Air website.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air electric range

my jen-Air has a problem with it continuing to beep. Ive tried to get it to stop by pushing all the buttons. When I pust the off/cancel button it just keeps beeping. Tried the stop timer button and same thing. When I turn on either the bake or convection bake button it automatically just shuts off by itself. It is approx 10-13 years old. HELP, or please tell me to get a new one.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air SCE 30600, oven error codes F1 and Probe

An F-1 error code on your model means the element was energized when it should not have been, A shorted interconnect harness or failed power relay board.

A probe indication could be a failed meat probe jack or bad harness in a unit that has one. In a unit without a meat probe, suspect a bad board.

Both conditions would warrant bringing in a tech.

Before you do, turn off the circuit breaker fot 3 miutes and turn it back on. This will reboot the boards. If problem persists, the call a service tech.

I have a jenn-air electric down draft slide in range. I had a power outage and now stove top works fine but no display or oven functions not even oven light.

You will need to replace the control board (clock assembly) on your unit. I see this all the time with power surges and it takes the control board out. Your model is a discontinued one and the part may need to be a special order. Here is a link to the part, call the number that is on the page and I am sure they may get it for you.

My Jenn-Air SVE47100 slide in electric range does

Obviously it does not work fine. The thermostat sensor or the stat itself could be an issue. Can you see the sensor 'bulb'? Clean it with oven degreaser and steelwool. What is the temp in the oven with a 'oven thermometer'? Is this consistent with the oven readout?

How to change the oven light

jenn air usually hides the model number good lol if you open the door on the outer face of the oven might be a little grill where you can see inside and your model might be in there or it might be around the warming drawer if you have one
you need just a regular appliance 20v light bulb you can get at home depot or hARDWARE STORE  if you open the door on the back wall on the left or right upper hand side there is a glass bulb looking object , the material is thick glass/ plastic that just screws off lefty loosy right tighty once that is off you have access to the light bulb
if there is a little wire in front of the thick glass/plastic object just pull it up or down dont unhook it or break it off
