I have created some magazine pages in my newsletter section and I need to send them to a print company that only accepts pdf files. I am having a hard time figuring out how to go about this. Although the print master program prompts me to save in pdf format, I cannot seem to do that .I am working on a new Windows Vista computer. Having the same issue with Printmaster Platinum version 18. Whenever I try to save a file as a PDF it freezes the program and then leaves a 0mb file instead. I really need to save a calendar I created as a PDF so I can take it to the printshop to have it printed. The computer I'm using has Windows Vista 64 bit
As a work around untill we can figure this issue out. http://www.acrosoftware.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp
This is a FREE PDF Print to file program.
At the top left of the page the are links to the PDF Creator and the Required GPL Ghostscript 8. The program will not function without it. Both programs work with x64 Vista. Read the website for the other benifits or the program.
If your version of PrintMaster does not offer the Save As PDF option in the File menu, or if you experience problems while trying to use the Save As PDF option, it should be possible for you to Print to PDF. It would, however, be best to select the PDF driver BEFORE going to File | Print - just in case the PDF driver causes the project to be changed or shifted in any way.
To select the PDF driver, click on Printer Setup then Print Setup in the File menu. When the Print Setup window opens, change the Printer Name to the Broderbund PDF Converter. If you would like to select either a specific resolution setting or a custom Paper Size, click on the Properties button to do so. After making the desired selections, click on OK until you are returned to the workspace. Look the project over to make sure that selecting the PDF driver didn't change anything. When you are sure that everything looks right, you are ready to go to File | Print.
If you would rather not use the Broderbund PDF converter, or if you experience problems while attempting to use the Broderbund PDF Converter, you can use any PDF driver which is installed on your computer.
CutePDF Writer, which is a free download from here (both the Free Download and the Free Converter must be downloaded for Cute PDF Writer)
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/...
and which is Vista Ready, is a popular alternative to the Broderbund PDF Converter.
NOTE: The Save As PDF option works ONLY with the Broderbund PDF converter. So, if you do decide to use a PDF Converter other than the Broderbund PDF converter, you will need to use the Print to PDF option.
