I'm new at a company where no-one administered the M7310 phone system. I need to change the voice and the choices currently recorded for the directory options....any idea how???
Appreciate any assistance
Can you get into the voicemail?
If you cannot get in, there are ways to erase the current password, back to the default password of: 0 0 0 0
If you can get in; after you dial your Password, press 8 and listen to the prompts.
There will be a prompt to change your name, one for your password and another for greeting.
Oh ~ do you mean you want to change the Auto Attendant? The thing that answers a call and says:
"if you know the extension please dial it now otherwise:
for x press 1 - for y press 2 - for z press 3"???
Or you just want to change the greeting in your voicemail?
Hey Carl,
Do you have any idea... I was going to give him directions on how to change the day and night greetings in the AA...
But he already knows that...
Not too sure where you change the "voice for the options" any ideas?
Hey mballanty720 you said that you know where to change the day/ night greetings...
That changes the AA voice?
Not too sure what you are needing...
If you can get into the programming:
To Log Into System Administration:
1. Enter Feature 983
2. The display will show "LOG:", enter your login password
a. If your company extensions are 2 digits long enter "120000"
b. If your company extensions are 3 digits long enter "1020000"
c. If your company extensions are 4 digits long enter "10020000"
3. Press the softkey under "OK"
To Record the Company DAY & NIGHTGreetings:
1. Press AA
2. Press GRTG
3. Press GRTG
4.
5. Enter (1) for DAY Greeting --- Enter (2) for NIGHT greeting
6. Press OK
7. Press REC to record.
8. Wait for the tone!
9. Record your basic DAY Greeting, for example: Thank you for calling
10. Make sure you save before you hang up otherwise it deletes everything you have just accomplished.
Sorry ~ that was a copy of a cheat sheet which I created along time ago... like 5 years ago, which still comes in handy.
If you changed the regular day/ night greeting, did you listen to the greeting before you changed it, the directory might be right in the main greeting... if it is not in that greeting it maybe in another greeting...
for instance- try greeting 3, or 4, or 5 + ~ listen to all the greetings till you find the right one that you want to change.
Sorry, cannot help you further, since each of these systems can be programmed 101 different ways.
Just wondering if you found it yet...
I found the area that you need to record, that is if you still need help.
First thing, these new employees have the extensions of the old employees correct, otherwise more changes that what I gave you here will not work properly, example when you hear Press 1 it went to Joe, and Mary is where Joe used to be; that will work. But if Mary is where Steve used to be, pressing one will go where Joe was and not to Mary. Understand?
Ok, for the first part- changing the greeting in the Auto Attendant via CCR tree... you have to get into the ADMIN mailbox:
-> FEATURE 9 8 3
-> Password 1020000 (this is the default password, but can be changed)
-> OTHR
-> CCR
-> ADMIN
-> TREE 1 and press OK
-> CHNG
-> Path 0
-> REC then press PLAY to listen to the greeting, and ensure that is the one that you need to change
-> REC the new message
-> remember to SAVE! otherwise all is for not.
THIS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR OTHER TREES ex 2 or 3, listen too all trees and change if required... same steps to get into the trees and prompts.
By the way, this is only changing the greeting, not the programming. Making sure you know that.
Oh I guess I can say also,
Path 1 is for option 1 in the message...
Path 2 is for option 2 in the message...
So on and so forth - all these options are most likely transfers to extensions or other hunt groups within your telephone system.

you will need to logg into the system under administrator. Then go under greetings to begin your options and choices to change each extension.

O.K. you're closer. Now, is there a second small box? Look at where the phone system is plugged in, because both the flash and the CP use a wall wart type of power supply...well sort of. The second box has to be close and it has the trade name on the cover.
No, you could have an 824, a CICS, an MICS, or a Compact DR something. As far as Voice mails, and this is the critical one, it could be either a Flash Mail or a Call Pilot. Both are administered differently.
Any idea what phone system and voice mail you have?
